Maahs Sits Back Down With a Double

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

A player bet 15,000 into a pot of 28,000 on a {6-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{5-Clubs} board, only to be met with an all in shove from Day 2 entrant Kevin Maahs for 33,200.

"Just so I'm clear, it would be 18,200 more?" Maahs' opponent asked, and after confirming the amount, he called.

Kevin Maahs: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Opponent: {a-Clubs}{4-Clubs}

Maahs was pushing his chair back before the river card could even fall, even though he had the lead with his top two pair. He faded the club on the {j-Hearts} river, and scooted back into his seat with a double.

Ioane Doubles Through Cunningham

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

After a series of raises, David Ioane had moved all-in over top of Allen Cunningham's 7,000 bet for 23,700. Cunningham thought about it for almost a minute before calling.

David Ioane: {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}
Allen Cunningham: {q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}

The board ran out {a-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{j-Spades} giving Ioane a set of jacks to double through Cunningham.

Straight for Carranza

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

The player under the gun raised and Omar Carranza three-bet to 6,300 from mid-position. Action folded back to the player under the gun who stuck around with a call.

A flop of {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{4-Spades} was dealt and the player under the gun checked. Carranza bet 6,000 and his opponent check-called.

The turn came the {9-Diamonds} and was checked through to the {j-Hearts} river. Both players checked again. The player under the gun showed {a-Spades}{k-Clubs} for a pair of kings but that wasn't good enough as Carranza revealed {q-Clubs}{q-Spades} for a straight to win the pot.

Lewis Up and Down

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Toby Lewis won a nice little pot before the break to bring his stack closer to the 60,000 that everyone started with. However, he wasn't able to carry that momentum forward and continue to climb the leaderboard. Lewis opened to 2,200 from under the gun and was called by the small blind and Armin Ghojehvand in the big blind.

The flop fell {9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and the action checked to Lewis who threw in a bet of 4,000. The small blind folded but Ghojevand shipped all in for 14,600. Lewis quickly called and the cards were on their backs.

Armin Ghojehvand: {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Toby Lewis: {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}

It was a great flop for Ghojevand who flopped top pair with the nut flush draw. The {8-Diamonds} on the turn gave Lewis a straight draw but the {2-Spades} on the river bricked off. Ghojevand doubled up through Lewis who fell back to nearly where he was earlier in the day.

Dubini in Action

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Richard Dubini called a raise from the player on the button after seeing the small blind player call, and the flop fell {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}.

All three players checked, and the {3-Hearts} hit the turn. Dubini saw the player in the small blind bet 2,300 and the Argentinian opted to raise to 7,000.

The initial button raiser folded, as did the player in the small blind just seconds later. Dubini took in the pot and moved up to 126,000.

Gaspard Can't Catch Against Stembera

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Michael Stembera bet 20,000 from middle position on a {10-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} board, and Jean Gaspard jammed for 24,000 from the hijack. The button got out of the way, and Stembera snap-called.

Jean Gaspard: {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
Michael Stembera: {2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}

Gaspard needed a diamond that didn't pair the board or a queen to survive, but he quickly headed to the door to exit once the {6-Hearts} fell on the river.
