Two Outs, Two Outs, One Out, One's Out

Level 9 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Cliff Josephy
Cliff Josephy

A wild hand just played out at Cliff Josephy's table, where Josephy had {7-Hearts}{7-Spades} in front of him, while his shell-shocked opponent held {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} on a {j-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} board.

Josephy had two-outed his opponent on the flop, then his opponent turned the tables and two-outed him on the turn. Josephy was able to hit the case seven on the river, and all the chips went in there, leaving Josephy with the pot and his opponent with one hell of a bad beat story to tell.

Chris Dotson Sees 2019 WSOP Poker Dream Come to an End

Level 9 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Chris Dotson
Chris Dotson

Oddschecker competition winner Chris Dotson has seen his dream of winning the 2019 WSOP Main Event come to an end.

His elimination escaped us but Dotson was kind enough to fill us in on some details after the fact. As he told it, he had grown short and upon coming back from the dinner break found a spot to get his last 17,000 all in preflop holding {a-}{k-}.

He was up against two opponents who held {j-}{j-} and {k-}{q-} respectively. Dotson was looking for either an ace or king to take the lead, but instead, the board ran out with a queen to give the original worst hand the winner.

While Dotson's time in the Main Event is over his 2019 WSOP may not be. The 35-year-old boiler operator from New Jersey said he may yet fire the $1,111 Little One for One Drop.

Levi Fills Up Versus Flush To Double

Level 9 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

According to Vedat Levi, he had just doubled up in a pot where he raised {a-}{q-} from the hijack and received a call from the player defending his big blind.

The flop came {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and Levi's opponent check-called his 6,000 continuation-bet. The turn was a black {10-} and Levi saw action checked to him once more. He bet 12,000 and his opponent reraised to put Levi all in. Levi called with his top two pair.

His opponent showed {k-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for a flopped flush, giving Levi four outs to the full house that would be necessary to keep him alive. Luckily for him, the river came {a-} and he secured the double.

Jattin's House Crushes Antonius

Level 9 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Patrik Antonius

The board read {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} and Patrik Antonius checked from the big blind. Farid Jattin tossed in a bet from early position and Antonius check-raised to 19,000. Jattin just called and the {5-Spades} completed the board.

Antonius wasted little time before sticking in the last of his chips for just under 20,000 and Jattin called even quicker. Antonius turned over {10-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for a full house but Jattin tabled {10-Spades}{7-Spades} for the nuts. Antonius packed up his bag and exited the tournament as his 2019 WSOP Main Event came to an end.

Wu Doubles Farahi

Level 9 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Yake Wu opened the action with a raise to 3,600 on the button and Alexander Farahi got his last 20,600 in from the big blind. Wu needed some consideration and made the call.

Alexander Farahi: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}
Yake Wu: {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

On a {10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop, Wu needed running cards to deal the final blow, but the {2-Clubs} turn and {7-Clubs} river brought no upset and kept Farahi in contention.

Pillai Shows Quadzilla

Level 9 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

On a {k-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{4-Hearts} flop, Brock Wilson bet an unknown amount from the hijack with a T25,000 chip and Shankar Pillai had called with a T5,000 chip on the button. Gabriel Iemmito made it 15,000 on Wilson's right and both opponents called, bringing an {8-Spades}. Action checked to Pillai, who bet 25,000. Only Iemmito called, bringing a {j-Spades} river. Iemmito checked and Pillai deliberated for over a minute, counting out his stack multiple times before sliding in 70,000, most of his remaining chips. Iemmito instantly announced a fold.

"Four?" he asked.

"Tell me what you had in that other hand and I'll show you," Pillai said.

Iemmito said ace-king and Pillai revealed {4-Spades}{4-Diamonds}.

Liebert Takes From Guerrini

Level 9 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

On a flop reading {k-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}, Michele Guerrini checked from middle position and Kathy Liebert bet 4,000 on the button. Guerrini check-called.

The dealer burned and turned the {9-Clubs} and Guerrini check-called another bet of 10,000 from Liebert.

The {9-Diamonds} filled up the river and Guerrini checked for a third time. Liebert fired 20,000 and Guerrini went into the tank but then threw in chips to call. Liebert tabled {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for a flopped flush and Guerrini mucked.
