The Star Sydney Champs returns to Sydney, Australia, with an expanded schedule promising 25 days of world-class poker.

Headlining the series is the A$3,000 ($2,800 + $200) Main Event with an impressive A$1.5 Million GTD! The series also includes an additional 16 side events, including brand new events Crazy Pineapple and The Sydney Champs NLH Cup. The flop came {2-Spades}{a-Clubs}{6-Hearts}, Bithell check-called the 525,000 continuation-bet of Sammartino.

The flop was {6-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs} and action checked to Ensan who bet 800,000. Mirzikinian check-raised to 2,500,000, Dempsey folded and Ensan called.

The turn was the {a-Clubs} and both players checked.

The river was the {3-Hearts}, Mirzikinian checked, Ensan bet 5,300,000 and after a little while in the tank Mirzikinian folded.

Cudos Doubles Through Maahs

Marcelo Cudos open-shoved from the button and Kevin Maahs in the small blind asked for a count. The all in of Cudos was for 4,900,000 and Maahs reshoved to force out Zhen Cai in the big blind.

The flop landed {6-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and Gates checked to Graham who bet 600,000. Gates called, and then both players checked the {4-Diamonds} on the turn.

The river fell the {3-Spades} and Gates led for 2,500,000 and Graham folded.

Preben Stokkan limped the small blind and then called when Henry Lu raised to 900,000 from the big blind.

Stokkan check-called a bet of 1 million on the {5-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{j-Spades} flop and then checked for the second time on the {6-Hearts} turn.

Lu kept the pressure on with a bet of 2.5 million and Stokkan gave it up. Lu was kind enough to show him the {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}.

Mirzikinian Hits the River

Robert Heidorn limped under the gun and Warwick Mirzikinian made it 600,000 on the button. Big blind Nicholas Danias called, and Heidorn came along for an {a-Hearts}{4-Spades}{2-Spades} flop that checked through to a {q-Diamonds} turn. The first two players checked and Mirzikinian bet 1 million. Only Danias called and the river was a {5-Clubs}. Danias checked and fairly quickly called 2.5 million.

"You're probably good," he said.

Mirzikinian had {4-Clubs}{3-Spades} for a straight on the river and took the pot.
