Corey "bluehoodie" Hochman Eliminated in 27th Place ($35,194)

Level 27 : 20,000/40,000, 4,000 ante
Corey Hochman
Corey Hochman

Stephen "tonystarsgfk" Graner raised to 80,000 from early position. Corey "bluehoodie" Hochman went all in for 667,615 from the small blind, Graner called when it was folded back to him.

Hochman was at risk holding the {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs} against the {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}. He would need serious help to survive.

Instead of help he received a quick end as the flop came {8-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{a-Spades} to give Graner quads and wrap things up. The {9-Clubs} turn and the {k-Clubs} river were meaningless as Hochman was eliminated.

Stroke Busts Schehr

Level 26 : 17,000/34,000, 3,400 ante

Thomas "illmatic_94" Schehr raised to 68,000 from middle position. Shawn "shades927" Stroke then three-bet to 130,000 from the cutoff. It folded back around to Schehr who four-bet all in for 974,768 and was instantly called.

Thomas "illmatic_94" Schehr: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}
Shawn "shades927" Stroke: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

The flop gave Stroke a full house as it came {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}. The turn improved that full house as the {q-Spades} came off, which made the {a-Clubs} on the river meaningless and to sent Schehr out.

Maria "femmeonfelt" Ho Spikes the River to Keep Main Event Hopes Alive

Level 26 : 17,000/34,000, 3,400 ante

Maria "femmeonfelt" Ho raised to 347,225 under the gun and left herself just 52,415 behind. Upeshka "gomezhamburg" De Silva just called from the cutoff, the button and blinds all folded, and it was heads-up action to the flop, which came down {9-Hearts}{7-Spades}{10-Clubs}. Ho moved in her remaining chips and De Silva called.

Maria "femmeonfelt" Ho: {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Upeshka "gomezhamburg" De Silva: {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}

Ho was ahead with a pair and open-ended straight draw, but disaster struck as the {8-Spades} turn spiked to give De Silva a straight. Ho was looking to either fill up or chop to stay alive, and the former came through as the {9-Spades} paired the board on the river to give her new life with nines full of eights.
