Too Many Outs for Gierse

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 150 ante

Luke "lmar54" Martinelli had been involved in several all-in showdowns with mixed success throughout the previous hands. He then opened to 3,000 from under the gun to pick up calls by Marius Gierse on the button and Niklas Astedt in the big blind.

Gierse bet the {a-Hearts}{9-Spades}{7-Spades} flop for 3,465 and Astedt came along. Martinelli raised the pot to 24,360 and Gierse then jammed, forcing a fold from Astedt and earning a call from Martinelli.

Luke "lmar54" Martinelli: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Marius Gierse: {j-Spades}{10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{3-Spades}

The wrap and flush draw of Gierse picked up a second flush draw and gutshot on the {k-Hearts} turn. With so many outs to dodge, Martinelli was already in bad shape and the {j-Clubs} river sealed his fate.

Zanette Felts Dzivielevski

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 150 ante

On a flop of {q-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{4-Spades}, Giovanni "HEIZENBERG_G" Zanette from under the gun and Yuri Dzivielevski got their chips in with the Brazilian at risk on the first bullet.

Yuri Dzivielevski: {k-Spades}{10-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Giovanni "HEIZENBERG_G" Zanette: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}

Zanette was ahead with his bottom set and Dzivielevski was looking for running spades, an eight or trey. There was no help on the {5-Clubs} turn and Zanette further improved to a full house on the {q-Diamonds} river.

Vieira Eliminated by Nagy

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 150 ante

Gergo Nagy raised to 3,600 in the cutoff and that led to a call by Joao Vieira in the big blind. The {10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop saw Vieira with a check-raise for the last 21,310 and Nagy instantly called.

Joao Vieira: {a-Spades}{8-Spades}{8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}
Gergo Nagy: {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}

Top set against the nut flush draw brought all the chips in the middle and Vieira made an inferior set on the {8-Clubs} turn. The {5-Hearts} river failed to provide any help and Vieira bowed out on his first entry.

Chen First Casualty of the Tournament

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 150 ante

With half of his stack already invested, James Chen got the last of it in after the {9-Clubs}{6-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop while on the button. He was looked up by "TonyLin008" in the big blind.

James Chen: {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{7-Spades}
"TonyLin008": {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{7-Hearts}

The {3-Hearts} turn kept Chen with some outs but the {5-Clubs} river gave "TonyLin008" a flush. It was the third bullet for Chen and he can't re-enter anymore.

Negreanu Doubles and Busts Ikonen

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 150 ante
Ikonen vs Negreanu
Ikonen vs Negreanu

Prior to the blinds moving up, Daniel Negreanu three-bet to 9,900 in the cutoff and forced a fold from Stoyan Madanzhiev, while Joao Simao called. On the {q-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop, Simao bet the pot and called the shove of Negreanu for another 2,858 on top.

Daniel Negreanu: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Clubs}
Joao Simao: {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{9-Spades}

The {8-Spades} turn and the {5-Spades} river ensured the double up of Negreanu.

Shortly after, he clashed with Olli "JeffBloss" Ikonen when the Finn got his chips in after the {a-Spades}{q-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop.

Olli "JeffBloss" Ikonen: {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}
Daniel Negreanu: {q-Hearts}{j-Spades}{5-Spades}{3-Hearts}

Negreanu had a straight and flush draw, which he completed on the {4-Spades} turn. No ace or queen appeared on the river, as the {k-Diamonds} sent Ikonen to the rail.

Sabo Doubles Through Tsang

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 125 ante

Alan Sabo raised to 2,200 in the hijack and called the three-bet to 8,100 by Anson Tsang in the cutoff. The flop brought {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and Sabo check-raised for the 35,145 he had behind, Tsang made the call with the superior stack.

Alan Sabo: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{j-Spades}{8-Diamonds}
Anson Tsang: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{5-Clubs}

The {7-Hearts} turn gave Sabo the straight and the {7-Spades} river changed nothing whatsoever.
