Big Bet From Alavali Gets Paid Off

Level 3 : 200/400, 50 ante

On the turn of a board reading {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{9-Spades}, Jargo Alavali bet 2,836, only to see Aliaksei Boika raised to 9,735. Alavali called that bet, and the {6-Hearts} completed the board. Alavali thought for a bit before betting full pot, over 22,000.

Boika made the call for over half his stack, and Alavali showed {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} for a full house. Boika showed King-Jack for top two pair that were undone by the turn, and Alavali takes a nice pot early on.

Action River for Carter and Gathy

Level 2 : 150/300, 35 ante

Four players saw a flop of {j-Spades}{7-Hearts}{4-Clubs}, and action checked to early big stack Michael Gathy, who fired 600. He was called by Michael "MarathonOG" Carter and Kevin Martin, and the {10-Clubs} hit the turn. All three players checked that card, and the {8-Clubs} hit the river. This time, action checked to Carter on the button, and he fired 3,000. Martin folded, but Gathy called with {6-Spades}{5-Spades} for the bottom end of the straight.

It was no good though, as Carter showed {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds} for a better straight. Despite taking that hit, it's been a great start for Gathy, who is the early chip leader.
