Byrraju and Chew Tangle in a Big Pot

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 140 ante

Stevan Chew kicked off the action by raising to 2,620, and it folded to Rahul Byrraju in the small blind. He three bet to 12,600, and Chew made the call.

The flop came down {5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{2-Clubs}, and Byrraju continued for 9,200. This time, it was Chew that raised to 19,785, and Byrraju burned through a bit of his time bank before shoving for over 76,000. Chew quickly called with {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}, and he was ahead of the {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}, though he had to dodge some outs.

He wasn't able to, as the {3-Clubs} hit the turn, and now Chew's only hope was to chop with an ace or six. A seven came instead, and Byrraju scooped a huge double up.

The Big Stacks on Break #2

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 140 ante

Two hours have come and gone in today's $5,000 Six-Handd Event, and the 204 remaining players are taking their second break of the day. The prizepool is already nearing $1.3 million, and with registration still open for two more hours, it looks likely that this event will push for $2 million total.

Here are the players who have emerged as early big stacks in this event.

Denisov Picks Off Ping

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 120 ante

Wisely "dawei0630" Peng and Sergei Denisov went heads up to a flop of {9-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Spades}, when Peng checked to Denisov. The Russian fired 3,000, and Peng check raised to 9,438. Denisov called, and the {10-Spades} hit the turn. Peng fired 7,432 this time, and Denisov called once again to see the {k-Hearts} hit the river.

Peng thought for a bit before shoving all in, and Denisov snap called his final 32,000 and change with {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}. Peng showed {8-Spades}{7-Clubs} for missed draws, and Denisov scored a big double up.

Level: 7

Big Flip Goes Negreanu's Way

Level 6 : 400/800, 100 ante

Daniel Negreanu raised it up to 1,600, and the button made the call. From the big blind, Dicky "FloatingWorld" Tsang three bet squeezed to 9,400. Negreanu didn't take very long to click it back to 18,000, and after the button folded, Tsang five bet shoved for about 55,000 total.

Negreanu made the call for most of his stack holding {a-Spades}{q-Spades}, and he was flipping against the jacks of Tsang. Nergreanu shot out to the lead after the flop of {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{6-Hearts} gave him top two pair, and Tsang wasn't able to catch a jack or running cards to catch up.

Cooler on the Flop Favors Dvoress

Level 6 : 400/800, 100 ante

Daniel Dvoress and Enrico Camosci got all of the latter's chips into the middle after a flop of {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{6-Hearts}. Camosci held {a-Hearts}{6-Spades} but he was in a world of hurt, as Dvoress had him one upped with {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}. Caomsci would need another six to survive, but the board finished out {8-Hearts} and {4-Spades}.

With that pot, Dvoress is back up to over 100,000.

Level: 6

Blinds: 400/800

Ante: 100

Maimone Four Bet Shoves Preflop

Level 5 : 300/600, 70 ante

Nick Maimone kicked off the action with a raise to 1,320. Next to act, Pavel "EzzzGame" Plesuv three bet to 4,200. Action folded back around to Maimone, and he thought for just a few seconds before four bet shoving all in. This bet was for the roughly 30,000 chips Plesuv had behind, and he didn't take very long to release his hand.
