'The Mouth' Silenced by Laplante

Level 18 : 1,000/2,000, 250 ante
Mike Matusow
Mike Matusow

Ryan "Protential" Laplante raised to 4,000 from late position and Mike "Mouth123" Matusow defended his big blind to see a {2-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} flop appear.

Both players checked to the {7-Hearts} turn where Matusow led out for 5,500 only to call the 19,000 raise from Laplante.
After the {6-Spades} completed the board on the river, Matusow check-called his 73,705 stack after Laplante jammed for 178,004

Matusow showed {q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} for top two-pair but it was no good a she was turned by Laplante {7-Spades}{7-Clubs} and eliminated from the tournament.

Yu Building a Stack

Level 18 : 1,000/2,000, 250 ante
Ben Yu
Ben Yu

Kevin "StonesFan" Ripple open-jammed for 37,692 from the hijack and Ben "WhyIsGamora" Yu isolated on the button for just a tad more.

Ben "WhyIsGamora" Yu: {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Kevin "StonesFan" Ripple:{5-Clubs}{5-Spades}

Yu was out in front and tooking a commanding lead after a jack appeared in the window on the {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} flop. The {7-Clubs} turn wasn't a good card for Ripple as it left him drawing dead and the {k-Spades} river ended his tournament.

Ryan Laplante
Ryan Laplante

A series of blind raises saw Ryan "Protential" Laplante move his 50,806 stack in the middle from the small blind and Evandro "EAGLESEAS" Dos santos called from the big blind.

Ryan "Protential" Laplante: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

Hellmuth Toasted

Level 16 : 600/1,200, 150 ante
Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth

Phil "lumestackin" Hellmuth open-jammed for 9,305 from the hijack and Russell "AntonChigurh" Powers isolated from the cutoff.

Russell "AntonChigurh" Powers: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}
Phil "lumestackin" Hellmuth: {a-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}

Hellmuth was in rough shape but the {4-Spades}{7-Hearts}{7-Clubs} paired flop did bring chop possibilities. Unfortunately for Hellmuth, the {k-Clubs} turn ended any chop hopes and the {a-Hearts} river ended his tournament.
