The "Crazy Mike" experience was on full display in a hand Thorpe just played against Jason Somerville. "I verbally raise," Thorpe announced as he put in a bet from early position.
Somerville called from the big blind as the flop came 
. "I verbally bet," Thorpe continued after Somerville checked.

turn. He checked for the third time and Thorpe bet on the 
river. "Eye contact time," Thorpe said as he leaned over the table and stared at Somerville.
