Case Ace on River For Saffron Cracks Set of Kings

Level 30 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante

Cries of astonishment were heard from the far table as a brutal scene had unfolded to bring the field down to three tables.

Christian Roberts had {k-}{k-} against the {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} of Todd Saffron.

The flop came {2-}{10-}{k-} to turn the screws on Saffron's aces. The turn was the {3-}. But the river was what caused the commotion as the {a-Clubs} came off, which according the table was the case ace as the other ace had been folded, and just like that Roberts was sent away in the most painful way possible.

Moron Making Progress

Level 30 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante

On a completed board of {3-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{8-Spades}{4-Hearts} and 1,350,000 already in the middle, Ignacio Moron bet 325,000 and Stephen Song moved all-in. Moron snap-called and the hands were revealed.

Ignacio Moron: {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Stephen Song: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

Song had pocket queens, but it was no good against Moron's rivered flush.

Luis Turns Over a Surprise Winner

Level 30 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante

Action was on the river with the board reading {5-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{j-Spades}. Apolinario Luis bet 1,200,000 after a long wait. Christian Roberts called.

Roberts turned over the {a-Spades}{3-Spades}. Luis shook his head in frustration and said king-high before tossing over his cards face-up, almost mucking them to show the {k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}.

The table quickly realized the pair of jacks which Luis didn't notice until he tabled his hand, saying that he thought the jack was a queen.

He collected the pot a bit sheepishly as Roberts said "Just muck next time" with the slightest hint of a smile.
