Day 2 in Event #19: $10,000 Seven Card Stud Championship Almost Underway

It is almost time for Day 2 action in Event #19: $10,000 Seven Card Stud Championship at the 2021 World Series of Poker (WSOP). Day 2 is scheduled to kick off at 2 p.m. local time and will play seven 90-minute levels before bagging.

Bolivia's Jose Paz-Gutierrez bagged as the Day 1 chip leader with 341,000 chips as he searches for his first WSOP bracelet. Paz-Gutierrez is joined by 17 other players who survived Day 1, including fellow big stacks Jason Gola, Adam Friedman and Anthony Zinno.

The stud championship field will likely grow as registration is open until the start of Day 2. Players will take 10-minute breaks after each level beginning on Level 11 and will take a 60-minute dinner break at the completion of Level 14.

The action was picked up at showdown with Israelashvili all-in against Zinno. In the end it was Zinno's higher two pair, aces and fives, that beat Israelashvili's jacks and tens, and the latter was eliminated in the process.

With this pot, Zinno added to his chip lead and now sits at 750,000 chips.

The action was picked up on sixth street with Chen having led things off with a check. Brian Rast bet, Gola called and Chen raised. Both players called the raise.

On seventh street, Chen fired out a bet after Rast and Gola had each checked. This sent Rast into the tank, who eventually opted to fold, and Gola called. James Chen tabled two pair, aces and deuces and Gola tossed his cards towards the muck and Chen was pushed the pot.

Andrew Kelsall was all-in on fifth street, and Zinno bet out on sixth street in a side pot versus Phil Hellmuth. Hellmuth called and seventh street was dealt.

Seventh street brought another bet from Zinno, and that sent Hellmuth to the tank briefly before he folded. All cards were tabled and it was Zinno that won the hand with his higher two pair, kings and tens, and Kelsall was eliminated from the tournmament.

With that pot Anthony Zinno has moved even closer to the one million chip mark with 950,000 chips.
