Table of Death

Level 1 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Table #420 has David Peters in Seat 3 and Josh Arieh and Paul Volpe sitting side-by-side in Seats 7-8

Volpe was just involved in a blind versus blind battle. With the board showing {j-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} on the turn, Volpe checked and the player in the big blind tossed in 5,000. Volpe called to see the {10-Spades} on the river.

Volpe checked again and was faced with a bet of 15,000. He called, only to muck when his opponent showed {j-Spades}{8-Hearts} for two pair.

Aces Hold for Iemolo

Level 1 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

On a board of {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{7-Hearts}, John Iemolo fired in a bet of 35,000 into the pot of 87,000 and his opponent jammed his entire stack into the middle.

Iemolo called and both hands were tabled.

Opponent: {q-Spades}{j-Spades}
John Iemolo, {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}

Iemolo was ahead with his aces and managed to fade his opponent's open-ended straight draw as the {9-Clubs} hit the river. After counting the stacks it was determined both players had exactly 118,000 in chips and his opponent was sent to the payout desk.

Deeb Chops With Queens

Level 2 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Shaun Deeb (big blind) and two opponents from early position and the button each put in 15,000 before the flop.

The flop came {6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and action checked to the player on the button, who bet 20,000. Deeb called, while the player in early position folded. The button checked out of turn on the {a-Spades} turn, and Deeb checked as well.

Both players also checked the {4-Diamonds} river, and both turned up pocket queens to split the pot.

Negreanu Loses More to Hrabec

Level 2 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Daniel Negreanu was involved in a three-way pot from the small blind with a player in early position and former nemesis Roman Hrabec on the button.

The player in early position bet 15,000 on a flop of {3-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{2-Hearts}, and both Negreanu and Hrabec called. Negreanu led out for 20,000 on the {a-Hearts} turn, and the early position player called. Hrabec then raised to 50,000, and Negreanu folded.

The other player called to see the {q-Hearts} river, and both checked. Hrabec's opponent showed {a-}{q-} for two pair, aces and deuces, but Hrabec turned over {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for the rivered flush.

Beck Flops Two Pairs

Level 2 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

With roughly 20,000 in the middle the board read, {9-Spades}{8-Clubs}{2-Hearts}. Jason Beck checked and a player bet out 6,000 before the button called. Beck put in a raise to 16,000 forcing the original bettor to fold and the button made the call once again.

The turn was the {10-Clubs} and both players checked to see the {k-Spades} on the river. They both checked once again and Beck tabled {8-Diamonds}{2-Spades} for two pairs on the flop and his opponent mucked his hand.

Towson Catches Daniels Bluffing

Level 2 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Jake Daniels raised to 7,500 from early position before David Towson three-bet from the hijack to 18,500. Daniels called to see a flop of {2-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}. Towson continued for 15,000 after Daniels checked, and Daniels called.

Both players checked the {a-Diamonds} turn. When the river came the {4-Clubs}, Daniels led out for 52,000. Towson went into the tank for a few minutes before making the call, then slammed down his {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} when Daniels showed a bluff.

Towson also won the next pot when he raised to 9,000 pre-flop and got three callers, including Christian Harder. He continued for 25,000 on the {7-Spades}{4-Spades}{j-Clubs} flop, and everyone folded.

Daniels, meanwhile, was eliminated a few hands later
