Guilbert Tests Hawkins

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Johan Guilbert
Johan Guilbert

Action was picked up on the river in the midst of Maurice Hawkins making a decision for his tournament life. A large pot of about 50,000 was in the middle of the table. Johan Guilbert had moved all in to put Hawkins to the test, having Hawkins covered by a decent amount.

The board read the {a-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{k-Spades}. Hawkins stared down Guilbert for several moments and tried to get any info he could through table talk.

Eventually Hawkins relented and folded the {a-Clubs}{4-Clubs} face up. Guilbert did not reveal any info and collected the pot to add to his large stack.

Chen Takes Out Leng

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante
Ryan Leng
Ryan Leng

All the chips were in the middle on a flop that read {a-}{4-}{6-}. Ryan Leng was at risk holding {a-}{3-}, and was behind the {a-}{j-} of Pete Chen.

The turn was another ace {a-}, Leng would need a three to survive and the {2-} looked close as the dealer peeled it off but it was not what Leng was looking for and his stack was swallowed up by Chen's.

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante
Ryan Riess
Ryan Riess

Ryan Riess defended his big blind against an early position raise of 11,000.

The flop came {3-Clubs}{9-Spades}{k-Hearts} and Riess checked. The early position player went all in and Riess called with {k-}{j-}. His opponent was holding {10-}{10-}.

The turn was a {2-} and the river was a {4-} so Riess doubled up with top pair.
