Zeidman Nearly Doubles

Level 12

Stud Hi-Lo

Cory Zeidman: {x-}{x-} / {8-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{3-Clubs} / {x-}
Christopher Chung: {x-}{x-} / {k-Spades}{3-Hearts}{8-Spades}{5-Hearts} / {x-}

Cory Zeidman sigh-checked and then called a bet by Christopher Chung on fifth while he had a pair of jacks showing. Chung then checked behind on sixth and seventh for Zeidman to reveal the {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}{4-Spades} for jacks and sixes, which won the entire pot.

Zeidman was left short nonetheless and Bruce Hoyt then departed soon after from a different table.

Wang Vanishes After Three-Way Pot

Level 12

Stud Hi-Lo

Howell Cheek: {k-Spades}{9-Clubs} / {6-Spades}{j-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{k-Spades} / {q-Spades}
Daniel Negreanu: {a-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} / {4-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts} / {j-Spades}
Ziyuan Wang: {5-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} / {10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{4-Clubs} / {q-Diamonds}

Ziyuan Wang was left with a mere 1,700 chips after he won the tiny side pot against Daniel Negreanu for the high pot. The main pot was chopped between Negreanu with the low and Howell Cheek as they had all turned over the cards on fifth street already.

One hand later, Cheek made a flush while Chad Eveslage had the low as Wang's board was already scooped. In PJ Cha, another short stack busted right after.

Doyle Brunson Can't Resist Lure of Another WSOP

Level 11
Doyle Brunson
Doyle Brunson

We haven't seen him yet, but according to Doyle Brunson he can't resist the lure of another WSOP.

Earlier this year he tweeted out that he would be playing "a few select tournaments" during the 2021 World Series of Poker.

Poker fans will surely be looking forward to potentially seeing the ten-time bracelet winner in action in some of the bigger buy-in Mixed Game events such as the $50,000 Poker Players Championship.

Check out this article ahead of Brunson's return!

Gathy Takes From Fleck

Level 11

Seven Card Stud

Michael Gathy: {x-}{x-} / {k-Spades}{10-Clubs}{3-Spades}{2-Spades} / {x-}
Katherine Fleck: {x-}{x-} / {a-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{k-Clubs} / {x-}

Katherine Fleck was out of her seat to try and see the up cards of Michael Gathy, who bet throughout fifth to seventh. Fleck called all bets and Gathy rolled over the {q-Spades}{10-Clubs}{5-Spades} for a flush while Fleck showed her cards briefly and mucked them.

Thorpe Stays Alive

Level 11

Seven Card Stud

"Just write down that Mike Thorpe fucks," another player remarked while David Moskowitz joked that he had won the biggest pot of the tournament so far.

The exact opposite was rather the case as Thorpe doubled for a mere 8,000 against big stack Vincas Tamasauskas failed to deal the final blow.

Mike Thorpe: {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}{7-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} / {9-Spades}
Vincas Tamasauskas: {5-Clubs}{5-Spades}{10-Spades}{j-Spades}{10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} / {2-Diamonds}

Tamasauskas ended up with tens up while Thorpe made a set of sixes to double.

Lee Eliminated by Bui

Level 11

Seven Card Stud

Michael Lee: {q-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Todd Bui: {k-Spades}{8-Spades}{6-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{10-Spades}

The cards were already mashed together and exposed as Michael Lee saw his hopes with a pair of aces vanish. Todd Bui had the winning hand in eights and tens, which he apparently made on seventh street.

At almost the same time, Drew Boyett was eliminated on a different table and the next table broke as the field dropped to around 144 players remaining.
