Thompson's Rockets Good to Oust a Player

Level 3 : 200/400, 400 ante

With a board of {10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and about 40,000 in the pot, Bill Thompson was on the button and jammed in his stack. A player in the cutoff thought about it for a while before deciding to make the call for his remaining 30,000 or so, mentioning he could re-enter if needed.

Cutoff: {8-Hearts}{6-Clubs}
Bill Thompson: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}

Thompson was ahead with the aces but needed to fade several cards on the river. The board completed with the {q-Spades}, ensuring the aces would not be cracked this time and eliminating a player as Thompson raked in the chips.

Adam Owen
Adam Owen

The action folded to Adam Owen, who raised from the small blind 1,200. The big blind defended to see a flop.

The board came out {7-Spades}{2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} and Owen continued for 1,000. The big blind called.

The turn brought a {7-Hearts} to which Owen checked. The big blind bet 2,000 and Owen called.

On the river of {6-Spades} Owen checked again to which the big blind bet 10,000 sending Owen into the tank. After about 20 seconds of thinking, he threw in the chips.

The big blind player shook his head as he flipped over {q-Spades}{4-Diamonds} for queen high while Owen flipped over {k-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for a rivered pair of sixes. Owen took the pot and now sits near 80,000.

Straight for Herrin

Level 2 : 200/300, 300 ante

On a board that read {k-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{8-Spades}{3-Hearts}, there were already roughly 19,000 chips in the middle when Chris Herrin fired out a bet of 15,000. His opponent took about 10 seconds before making the call. Herrin tabled {7-Diamonds}{6-Spades} for a turned straight, and his opponent tabled the {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds} for top set, before throwing his hand in disgust to the muck.

Quads for Hurtado

Level 2 : 200/300, 300 ante

As told by Guillermo Hurtado, the action began with the under-the-gun player raising to 600. A player in late position made the call, and Hurtado three-bet to 2,300. Only the late position player called.

The flop came {q-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and both players checked to see the {k-} on the turn. Both players checked once again, and the river fell the {k-}, which Hurtado now led for 1,500 and his opponent quickly called.

Hurtado tabled his {k-}{k-} to show his opponent quad kings, and his opponent tabled the losing {j-}{j-} before the dealer shipped the pot.
