Tens are Good for Gulati

Level 20 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

On a flop of {q-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} there was roughly 175,000 in the middle already and there were two players in the pot. It was checked to Tarun Gulati who put in a bet of 35,000, which was quickly called.

The turn was the {3-Clubs} and both players decided to check. When the {5-Hearts} fell on the river the player first to act decided to lead for 40,000 and without much thought, Gulati put in the call. The bettor tabled {a-}{k-} and Gulati tabled {10-Spades}{10-Hearts} to scoop the pot.

Brobyn Gets Caught But Improves

Level 20 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

The action was picked up on the flop of {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{9-Spades} where Robert Brobyn checked from the big blind, allowing the early position player to bet 75,000, which Brobyn raised all-in over the top of. The early position player went into the tank for at least a minute before making the call.

Early Position: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Robert Brobyn: {8-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

The {k-Diamonds} was a safe turn for the ace-king but the river {7-Clubs} completed Brobyn's straight. The Early position player said "nice hand," and left the tournament area.

Pocket Eights Hold for Turner

Level 19 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

A player had opened to 85,000 and the action folded around to Daphne Turner in the small blind who shoved her 530,000 stack into the middle. The big blind called off his remaining 150,000, and the original raiser got out of the way.

Big blind: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Daphne Turner: {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}

It was a classic coin flip situation and the flop didn't improve either player when it fell {10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{6-Spades}, however, Turner picked up a gutshot straight draw. The turn was the {3-Spades}, changing nothing, but the {7-Spades} on the river completed Turner's straight and sent the big blind to the cashier's cage.

Stoebe's Six-Deuce Preflop Jam Beats Pocket Tens

Level 19 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Derrick Stoebe jammed all-in for 80,000 under the gun, and Ron Germany called in the cutoff while everyone else folded.

Derrick Stoebe: {6-}{2-}
Ron Germany: {10-}{10-}

The flop was {6-}{6-}{a-} and the whole table erupted. The {j-} turn and {k-} river confirmed the six-deuce bad beat over the tens.

Germany was in disbelief at his unfortunate luck, meanwhile, Stoebe conceded by saying "I know that was dog s*** but that was the only play I had", referencing the fact that he would be in the big blind in the next hand and had put his stack in without even looking at his cards.

Vierling's Shove Gets Through

Level 19 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Jessica Vierling raised from early position to 100,000 and the big blind defended.

The flop came down {9-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}, and the action checked through to the turn.

The turn came the {10-Spades} and the big blind bet 25,000, which Vierling raised to 80,000. The big blind called to see the river.

The big blind led for 75,000 on the {3-Clubs} and Vierling promptly moved all in. After some thought, the big blind showed a {10-} and tossed the hand into the muck.

Liu Turns Broadway to Add to Massive Stack

Level 18 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

After a raise to 50,000 and two calls, Yayun Liu raised to 300,000. Only one player called for his remaining 200,000 or so, while the other two folded. One of those players who folded wanted it to be known that he "hates being in a hand and having to fold".

Opponent: {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Yayun Liu: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

The players were flipping and the flop came {k-}{a-}{j-} to put Liu behind, but he quickly jumped back in front on the {q-} turn. The {a-} completed the board and his opponent thought he may have had a boat, but quickly found out the bad news, to which he exclaimed "I played that hand perfectly!", followed by an expletive of his choosing.

Meanwhile, Liu adds to his already sizeable stack and appears to be one of the top stacks currently.
