Reichenstein Lays it Down

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Daniel Schmertz opened to 24,000 from under-the-gun and was three-bet to 55,000 by Uri Reichenstein in the cutoff. Action folded back to Schmertz, who called.

Schmertz then led out for 80,000 on the {a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop, to which Reichenstein said, "That is the weirdest thing I have ever seen," before letting his hand go.

Howard Holds, Scores A Triple

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Taylor Howard moved all-in from early position for 168,000 and Steve Karp called barely covering Howard. The action then folded to Koveh Waysei in the big blind who had both players covered. Waysei went into the tank eventually making the decision that there was too much money in the pot and that his hand was too good not to call. They went three-ways to the flop with tabled hands.

Taylor Howard: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Steve Karp: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Koveh Waysei: {a-Spades}{j-Spades}

The board ran out {4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}. Howard's ace-king high was good enough for a triple up putting a dent in Waysei's stack as well as leaving Karp short.

Early Eliminations

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Some Updated Chip Counts

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Theologis Ousts Clark

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Zach Clark was all in for about 120,000 on a {6-Spades}{8-Hearts}{q-Hearts} flop against Alexandros Theologis, who had Clark covered.

Alexandros Theologis: {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
Zach Clark: {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

Theologis had Clark's flush draw dominated. The {6-Clubs} turn improved neither player but the {4-Hearts} river gave Theologis the nut flush, eliminating Clark in the process.

Zaki Hits the Rail

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Justin Zaki opened in early position to 120,000, leaving him with 14,000 left in his stack. Ken Fishman moved all-in for a bit less than 500,000. The rest of the table folded and the players revealed their cards:

Justin Zaki: {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}
Ken Fishman: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}

Zaki was in bad shape and didn't find any help on the {q-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} board and was eliminated from the tournament.

Bust Out For Black

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Albert Kinder who was short-stacked moved all-in from middle position. Taylor Black was the sole caller.

Albert Kinder: {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}
Taylor Black: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}

The board ran out {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{j-Spades}{k-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} for Black's aces to remain the best hand.

Seif Sends Kudrjavcevs Out

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

The action started with Antony Darmani, who opened to 21,000 in the hijack. Eduards Kudrjavcevs three-bet in the small blind to 42,000. Mark Seif, in the big blind, decided to four-bet to 91,000 and Darmani quickly folded. Kudrjavcevs tanked for some time before calling off with the last of his chips.

Eduards Kudrjavcevs: {a-Clubs}{9-Hearts}
Mark Seif: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}

The board {10-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{6-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} and Seif had the better hand all the way despite rivering a pair of queens. Kudrjavcevs was sent to the payout desk after his elimination.

Go Guo

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Ziao Guo moved all-in or his remaining 98,000. It folded around to Arthur Conan who has a mountain of chips and he made the call.

Ziao Guo: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Arthur Conan: {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

The board ran out {q-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{7-Hearts}. Guo flopped a set of nines and Conan flopped a gutshot straight draw. The board ran out clean for Guo who claimed a crucial double up.
