The action started with the button who raised to 4,000. Joao Simao, in the big blind, thought about his move for a minute and three-bet to 14,000, called by the button.

The flop {7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} appeared and Simao check-called for 11,000. The {10-Hearts} turn brought no betting action.

A {q-Spades} completed the board and Simao tanked before tossing a pile of chips in the middle for around 26,000. His opponent announced all-in and it was snap-called by Simao for a total stack of 43,300.

Simao flipped over {8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} for a flopped straight and his opponent showed {q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} with a smile before mucking his cards.

The big blind checked to Upeshka De Silva and he bet 18,500. Kelly Minkin behind him tanked briefly before she folded.

Martin Jacobson, in the big blind seat, tanked for some time before shoving for a stack worth 56,000. His opponent seated next to him didn't take long to muck his cards and Jacobson picked up the pot.

The winner of the 2014 World Series of Poker Main Event, who late registered this event, now has a stack approaching 100,000.
