Hastings Finishes Off Butler

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Ashly Butler lost a big chunk of his chips and was left with a stack of around 12,000 chips. A couple of hands later, Butler found himself all in against Brian Hastings and the hands were tabled preflop.

Ashly Butler: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}
Brian Hastings: {a-Spades}{8-Spades}{7-Spades}{5-Hearts}

The flop came {8-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Hearts} to give Hastings a straight and the best low. The {10-Spades} on the turn and the {5-Clubs} on the river changed nothing as Butler was eliminated.

Zyrin Eliminates Schulman

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Nick Schulman
Nick Schulman

The action was discovered on a completed board of {4-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} with Nick Schulman who was all-in and at-risk versus Anatolii Zyrin.

The chips all went into the middle on the flop.

After all the dust had settled it was the {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{3-Spades} held by Zyrin that bested the {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{8-Spades}{8-Hearts} held by Schulman, and the latter was eliminated from the tournament.

Chang Scores a Double KO

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Picking up the action on the turn with the board reading {8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}, Robert Mizrachi threw in a bet of 40,000 from under the gun. Danny Chang called on the button and Joshua Pender stuck in the last of his 82,000 from the big blind. Mizrach re-raised to 215,000 and Chang just called.

The river was the {3-Spades} and Mizrachi instantly shoved all in for another 190,000. Chang called just as fast and tabled {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades} for the nut-flush and the nut-low. Mizrachi stood up from his chair and said he had {a-}{8-}{6-} but his cards went into the muck. Pender tabled his {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}{9-Spades}{3-Diamonds} but he was also eliminated.

Sternberg Eliminates Coultas; Money Bubble Bursts

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Charles Coultas
Charles Coultas

All of the chips went into the middle preflop in the bubble hand between Alan Sternberg and Charles Coultas.

It was the {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{6-Spades} held by Sternberg that led the {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{3-Spades} held by Coultas.

The dealer spread the flop of {10-Spades}{4-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} and Sternberg extended his lead with a top set of aces.

The turn card was the {10-Hearts} and that filled up and sealed the deal for Sternberg.

The meaningless river card {7-Diamonds} made it official. With aces full of tens, Sternberg was awarded the pot, which eliminated Coultas on the direct money bubble.

Jones Finally Falls

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Justin Jones was on the short stack and just recently doubled up against Dan Colpoys when he rivered a royal flush. However, Jones found himself all-in again for around 80,000 against Leif Force.

Justin Jones: {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{10-Spades}{2-Diamonds}
Leif Force: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{9-Spades}{2-Hearts}

The flop came {a-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{6-Clubs} to give Force a set of aces. The {j-Spades} on the turn and the {2-Spades} on the river improved Force to a flush and Jones was eliminated.
