Ball Gets River Value

jeffmcmillan • Level 34: 200,000-400,000, 400,000 ante

Action was picked up on the river with a decent pot of about 5,000,000 in the middle and the board reading {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}.

Scott Ball bet 3,200,000 and Sorel Mizzi quickly called.

Ball tabled the {j-}{j-} for a flopped set of jacks and Mizzi mucked as a portion of his stack went to his direct left.

Sorel Mizzi raised to 1,000,000 and Donnie Phan three-bet to 1,910,000, leaving one 25,000 chip behind and Mizzi called.

They got the last of the chips in on the {5-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{q-Hearts} flop and Phan was at risk.

Donnie Phan: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
Sorel Mizzi: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

The turn was the {8-Hearts} giving Mizzi a heart flush and the {8-Diamonds} completed the board as Phan was eliminated.

Brekstyn Schutten Eliminated in 13th Place ($27,363)

Brekstyn Schutten moved his remaining decimated stack into the middle preflop and was called by Michael Shanahan.

Breysktyn Schutten: {a-}{8-}
Michael Shanahan: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

The board would not be a life raft to Schutten as it ran out {a-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{j-Spades} and that was the end of the line for him in thirteenth place.
