Eveslage Rivers a Chop

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Stud Hi-Lo Regular

Gina Hecht: {x-}{x-} / {3-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{8-Clubs} fold
Craig Chait: {x-}{x-} / {a-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts}{9-Clubs} / {x-}
Chad Eveslage: {x-}{x-} / {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{j-Spades} / {x-}

Craig Chait bet all the way from fourth to sixth. He was called once by Gina Hecht who then folded on fifth while Chad Eveslage stuck around. Seventh was checked and Chait tabled {9-}{5-}{x-} for nines and fives with a nine-low. Eveslage chopped with the {8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{2-Spades} after he caught the eight low on the river.

Kostoulas Eliminated by McWhorter

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

"Can I take back the game?" Christopher Kostoulas joked after he had gotten it in preflop for 21,000 and was called by James Mcwhorter.

Christopher Kostoulas: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
James McWhorter: {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}

The board ran out {7-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and that spelled the end for Kostoulas.

Eckart Doubles Through Tran

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Badacey

Jason Eckhart was all-in prior to the first draw for just 11,500 and called by Phuong Tran. Both players took two and Tran then patted. Eckhart took another two on the second draw and one on the final draw.

Tran flipped over {a-}{7-}{6-}{4-}{3-} but Eckart got there with the {a-}{7-}{6-}{4-}{2-} to remain in contention.

There are only 65 players remaining as the list of early casualties continues to grow.

Henson Crosses 300,000

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

No Limit Hold'em

Shortly after his Omaha 8 or better win, Ray Hanson added to his stack again, this time against Ian O'Hara.

With approximately 70,000 in the middle on a {4-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{7-Spades} turn, both players checked.

Following the {3-Clubs} river, O'Hara checked again, and Henson thought briefly before he declared, "this is the nittiest check ever", and then turned over {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}, which was the winner as O'Hara showed {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}.

Chambers Loses It All In Two Hands

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Omaha Hi-Lo

Walter Chambers lost the most portion of his stack when he check-called out of the big blind against Ray Henson on a {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} board. Henson rolled over {a-Clubs}{10-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} for trips aces and a low, and Chambers was scooped as his eight-low was no good.

One hand later, Chambers raised in the small blind and got the rest in after the {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}{8-Spades} flop against Russell Clayton.

Walter Chambers: {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Russell "Rusty" Clayton: {k-Spades}{5-Clubs}{3-Spades}{3-Diamonds}

The {2-Spades} turn completed the flush and the {4-Diamonds} river was of no help to Chambers and he was knocked out.

Le Essentially Doubles Through Kihara

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

5 Card Draw High

With the final draw just about completed, Naoya Kihara tabled the {7-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Spades}{3-Hearts} for a seven-high straight. However, Allan Le had gotten there with the {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for a flush and essentially doubled, as he only had a few chips behind after the last betting round.
