Shak Stacked After Aces Cracked

Level 12 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Dan Shak
Dan Shak

Jonas Kronwitter opened to 15,000 in late position and Dan Shak flat-called on the button. Adam Hendrix in the big blind then three-bet to 65,000 and only Shak called, with about 65,000 behind.

The flop came {a-Spades}{2-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and Shak checked out of turn.

"It's on me," Hendrix said before making a decision.

Hendrix bet to put his opponent all-in and Shak folded, leaving himself short.

The very next hand, Shak got his stack in preflop against Kronwitter.

Dan Shak: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{4-Clubs}
Jonas Kronwitter: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}{9-Spades}{6-Spades}

The flop of {k-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{5-Clubs} brought the only king left in the deck to give Kronwitter the lead with a set, and Shak hit the rail when he did not improve on the {5-Spades}{q-Diamonds} runout.
