Frustrated Arieh Eliminated

Level 19 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Josh Arieh
Josh Arieh

"Pay me my f*****g money!" could be heard throughout the Purple section in the Amazon Room and it was coming from 4x WSOP bracelet winner Josh Arieh.

Arieh was standing up from his seat after just being eliminated and was awaiting a payout clerk to take him to the payout desk. Stephen Gerber happened to be the beneficiary of Arieh's chips and was kind enough to relay the information of what happened.

Arieh raised from under the gun and Gerber defended the big blind. Gerber check-called every street on a board of {8-}{4-}{4-}{10-}{3-} with the river being an all-in shove from Arieh. Gerber made a tough call with {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and caught Arieh bluffing who showed {j-Clubs}{7-Clubs}.

Chidwick Puts Milliard-Feral to the Test

Level 19 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

There was wads-up action between Julian Milliard-Feral from under the gun and Stephen Chidwick from the hijack with a completed {4-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{k-Spades}{q-Hearts}{q-Clubs} board showing,

With roughly 500,000 in the middle, Chidwick check-jammed after Milliard-Feral fired out 375,000 and sent him into the tank.

After careful consideration, Milliard-Feral decided to pick a better spot to get his money in and folded his hand.

Alafogiannis Doubles Through Lonis

Level 19 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Picking up the action on the {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop, Chris Alafogiannis had made it 150,000 to go out of the big blind. Jesse Lonis then reraised to 375,000 and Alafogiannis moved all-in. Lonis asked for the amount he raised and then the stack size of his opponent. The shove was for 573,000 total and the call of Lonis followed.

Chris Alafogiannis: {7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}
Jesse Lonis: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

The flopped straight of Alafogiannis was way ahead and Lonis needed running cards to avoid a major setback. One of the cards appeared with the {5-Hearts} turn but the {10-Diamonds} river brought no miracle upset as Alafogiannis doubled.

Kiriopoulos on a Heater

Level 19 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Demo Kiriopoulos
Demo Kiriopoulos

Demosthenes Kiriopoulos, or 'DK' as some call him, was just seen stacking up chips from winning a healthy pot and wasted no time getting back in the action. Kiriopoulos opened to 35,000 on the button and the big blind three-bet to 105,000. Kiropoulos called and the dealer spread the flop of {q-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}.

The big blind led out with a bet of 60,000 and Kiriopoulos called to see the {7-Clubs} on the turn. Both players checked and the {8-Spades} landed on the river.

The big blind checked once more and Kiriopoulos made a bet of 80,000. His opponent thought for a minute and eventually called. Kiriopoulos rolled over {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} for top pair and was awarded the pot.

Machina Spikes Turn to Double

Level 19 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Morgan Machina got the rest of his chips in preflop and was at risk of busting.

Morgan Machina: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Opponent: {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}

The players were flipping and the {j-Spades}{5-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop left Machina's chances looking slim, until the {q-Clubs} hit the turn to put him way ahead. The {10-Diamonds} completed the board to give him a double and keep his Main Event hopes alive.

Matt Waxman
Matt Waxman

Matt Waxman opened under the gun for 32,000 and then called the 157,000 three-bet jam the big blind made. '

Opponent: {k-Spades}{j-Spades}
Matt Waxman: {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

Waxman was dominated until a ten appeared in the window on the {9-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{10-Clubs} flop but it also gave his opponent a gutshot straight draw.

The {5-Diamonds} paired the board on the turn and Waxman faded the river as it fell the {j-Hearts} eliminating his opponent.
