Volpe Gets a Bit Healthier in Battle of Short Stacks

Level 15
Paul Volpe
Paul Volpe

Pot-Limit Hold'em

Picking action up on the turn with about 40,000 in the pot on a {9-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} board, Anatolli Zyrin checked in the big blind and Paul Volpe put out a bet of 18,000 which Zyrin called.

On the river {5-Clubs}, Zyrin checked again. Volpe inquired if Zyrin had less than him, which he did, just slightly.

Volpe opted to check and go to showdown, showing down {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}, which would prove to be the winner, boosting him back over the 100,000 chip mark.
