Diebold Ramps Up Aggression

Level 24

No-Limit Hold'em

Ben Diebold raised to 80,000 and table short stack Christopher Claassen defended the big blind. On a flop of {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{8-Spades}, Claassen checked and then folded when Diebold made it 60,000 to go.

Brian Rast then opened to 90,000 and claimed the blinds and antes.

Diebold open-jammed into Rast to claim back the big blind.

Pot-Limit 2-7 Triple Draw

Diebold raised it up to 80,000 on the button for Rast to call in the small blind. They discarded two each and checked, then took one each. Rast bet 155,000 and Diebold instantly folded. With his aggressive playing style as of lately, he has established a larger lead nonetheless.

Diebold Gets it Back

Level 24

Limit A-5 Triple Draw

Ben Diebold raised on the button and was called by Mike Gorodinsky in the big blind.

Gorodinsky drew three, while Diebold drew two.

The players then checked, and each drew two.

Gorodinsky now led out with a bet, which was called by Diebold.

The players now drew one card each, and Gorodinsky check-called a bet from Diebold.

Diebold showed {6-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-} for a six low and Gorodinsky mucked his cards, awarding a pot to Diebold that brings him back over 3,000,000 chips.

Diebold Pays Off Gorodinsky

Level 24

Badugi

Ben Diebold was aiming to raise on the button and put in 85,000 in chips, which was certainly not enough to qualify for a raise and thus became a flat-call. Mike Gorodinsky checked in the big blind and drew three, Diebold drew one. Gorodinsky check-called a bet and both took one each to check. Gorodinsky then patted while Diebold took another card, then faced Gorodinsky's bet.

"I started with one, two, four, I am such a fish," Diebold declared in table chat. Once he called and Gorodinsky tabled the {k-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{a-Spades} for a Badugi, Diebold added "I suck".

The remaining Badugi hands brought not much of an excitement. Brian Rast three-bet against Gorodinsky and patted versus two, bet and took it down.

Next game: A-5 Triple Draw, courtesy of Christopher Claassen.

Ben Diebold

Pot-Limit 2-7 Triple Draw

Ben Diebold raised to 120,000 from the small blind and was called by Brian Rast in the big blind.

Diebold proclaimed "oops", then drew three cards to Rast's two.

Diebold then checked and Rast bet 125,000. Diebold called.

Two cards were needed by Diebold, while Rast took only one, and again Diebold checked.

Rast cut out a bet of 315,000, which Diebold called after a bit of deliberation.

Each player then drew one, and finally, both players checked.

"I win", declared Diebold, as he fanned {9-}{7-}{6-}{4-}{2-} on the table, which indeed was the winner, as Rast mucked his cards and a pot that put Diebold over 3,000,000 chips was pucjed to Diebold.

Claassen Gets Some Back

Level 23

Badugi

In a battle of the blinds, Mike Gorodinsky raised and Christopher Claassen called. Gorodinsky patted all the way while Claassen took one new card in each round. As Gorodinsky also bet all the way, the calls of Claassen mirrored.

Claassen declared a ten and Gorodinsky replied "ten is good" without showing his cards, which he then mucked upon being presented with the {10-Hearts}{9-Spades}{2-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} by Claassen.

Claassen then lost some chips when he raised the button and Brian Rast defended the big blind. They took two each and checked, Rast then patted and Claassen took two. Rast bet and Claassen folded.

Up next, the new game was declared by Claassen and he selected Limit Hold'em. In the first hand, Claassen chopped with Rast when the board ran out a seven-high straight.

Rast Rocked in Badugi

Badugi

Brian Rast raised the button and Mike Gorodinsky called in the small blind. Christopher Claassen folded his big blind.

On the first draw, Gorodinsky took two cards, while Rast drew one. Gorodinsky then check-raised a bet from Rast, who then called.

Each player drew one, and Gorodinsky kept up the aggression, betting again, with Rast coming along.

Again one card each was drawn, with Gorodinsky betting the end and getting called again.

Gorodinsky showed {4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs}{a-Hearts} for a wheel, saying he picked up the {4-Diamonds} on the end.

On the next hand, Rast was in the cutoff when he raised and was called by Ben Diebold in the big blind.

The players each drew two on the first draw, then one on the remaining two draws, with Diebold check-calling bets from Rast, before check raising him after the third draw. Rast reluctantly called to see Diebold roll over {9-Spades}{6-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}.

The now former chip leader lost almost a thrid of his stack in this costly round of Badugi.

Claassen Chips Back Up Through Diebold

Level 23

Pot-Limit Omaha

Ben Diebold limped in the cutoff and Christopher Claassen checked his option in the big blind. On a flop of {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{9-Clubs}, Claassen check-raised from 30,000 to 90,000 and Diebold clicked it back to 210,000. That sent Claassen into the tank and he then called.

Both ended up checking down the {k-Spades} turn and {6-Diamonds} river for Claassen to win the pot with the {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} for trips queens.

Mike Gorodinsky then raised to 90,000 on the button the next hand and Diebold came along out of the big blind. The {9-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop went check, check, and Diebold bet the {9-Spades} turn for what appeared to be 170,000. Gorodinsky didn't ask for the exact bet size, mulled it over for half a minute and folded.

The game type then changed and Gorodinsky told table neighbour Brian Rast "pot limit deuce baby, let's fuck!" Rast went through the plaques and selected Badugi.

Christopher Claassen: {x-}{x-}/{9-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds} - folded fifth street
Brian Rast: {x-}{x-}/{8-Hearts}{6-Spades}{8-Clubs}

Christopher Claassen completed after Mike Gorodinsky brought in. Brian Rast called and Gorodinsky conceded his bring-in.

On fourth street, Claassen bet and was called by Rast.

Rast paired his eight on fifth street and took over the betting lead, prompting a fold from Claassen.

On the following hand, Rast got a few more chips from Claassen after completing Claassen's bring in and receiving no resistance from anyone at the table.
