Schindler and Shorr Double Up

Level 16 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Jake Schindler raised to 375,000 from under the gun and Sean Winter re-raised to 675,000 on the button. The blinds folded and Schindler stuck in the last of his chips for a total of 740,000 which Winter quickly called.

Schindler held {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and was up against the {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} of Winter. The board ran out {7-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{a-Spades} and Schindler nailed an ace on the river to score a double up.

Next door, Shannon Shorr raised it up on the button and Dan Shak called from the big blind. The flop came {q-Spades}{j-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and Shak checked to Shorr who continued for 80,000. Shak check-raised all in and Shorr took two minutes before calling off his stack of 955,000.

Shak tabled {j-Clubs}{10-Hearts} which was ahead of Shorr's {a-Spades}{k-Spades}. The turn was the {10-Spades} which gave Shorr a straight and Shak two pair. The {9-Hearts} paired the board on the river but it was the wrong one for Shak who fell down to just two big blinds.
