Zhu Gets Some More Off Ross...With a Royal Flush!

Level 29 : 80,000/160,000, 0 ante
Yueqi Zhu
Yueqi Zhu

Ben Ross raised from early position and both Steven Wolansky and Yueqi Zhu came along from the blinds.

All three players checked the {j-Spades}{q-Spades}{2-Spades} flop before Zhu bet on the {3-Clubs} turn.

Only Ross called to the {k-Spades} river, when Zhu put out another bet.

"If you have a flush, you're good," Ross said as he called.

Zhu didn't have just a flush. He turned over the {a-Spades}{10-Spades} for a royal flush as he stopped to take a picture of the board before players went off on break.

Fred Lavassani

Joe McKeehen raised in early position and Fred Lavassani three-bet in the big blind. McKeehen called.

The dealer fanned a flop of {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and Lavassani continued with a bet. McKeehen instantly dropped two 100,000-value chips for a raise and Lavassani put his remaining stack of roughly 230,000 across the line.

Fred Lavassani: {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Joe McKeehen: {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

Lavassani was looking for a ten to stay alive but the {k-Hearts} on the turn sealed his fate and the {4-Hearts} river was just a formality as Lavassani was sent to the payout desk in 7th place for $18,100.

Steven Wolansky raised preflop and Joe McKeehen called from the big blind. The flop came {2-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and Wolansky continued with a bet.

Steven Wolansky: {k-Spades}{8-Clubs}
Yueqi Zhu: {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}

Wolansky was dominated and got no help on the {4-Hearts}{5-Spades} runout, being sent to the payout desk to collect $24,149 for his sixth-place finish.

Moncek Rivers King in Sizeable Pot

Level 30 : 100,000/200,000, 0 ante
Michael Moncek
Michael Moncek

Yueqi Zhu raised the small blind and Michael Moncek put in a three-bet, which Zhu called.

On the flop of {j-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Spades}, Zhu check-called the continuation from Moncek.

The {10-Spades} hit the turn and Zhu took the lead, firing out a bet which Moncek called.

When the {k-Clubs} completed the board, Zhu checked and Moncek tossed out a bet. Zhu took his time and ultimately decided to call. Moncek tabled {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}, making a pair of kings on the river and Zhu mucked his hand.

Ross Going Backward

Level 30 : 100,000/200,000, 0 ante

Joe McKeehen raised pre flop and Ben Ross and Christoph Kwon came along from the blinds.

The flop came {j-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{8-Spades} and action checked to McKeehen, who bet. Only Ross called to see the {4-Clubs} turn.

McKeehen bet again, but this time Ross came back with a raise. McKeehen called.

The river was the {8-Diamonds} and McKeehen called another bet. Ross showed an ace, but McKeehen had {j-Hearts}{10-Clubs} for a full house to take the pot.

"I'm going backwards, champ," Ross said to his nemesis following the hand.

Zhu Turns a Set

Level 30 : 100,000/200,000, 0 ante

Joe McKeehen raised, then called when Yueqi Zhu re-raised from the cutoff.

McKeehen checked to Zhu on the {2-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop and called a bet. He also called on the {8-Hearts} turn and {9-Clubs} river.

Zhu turned over {8-Spades}{8-Clubs} for a set of eights on the turn and McKeehen let out an exasperated sigh before mucking.

"Good hand, sir. I had you on the flop," he said while surrendering the pot.
