Pelz Hits the Rail

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Ian Pelz was seen with his last 8,000 in the middle before the flop and was at risk against Joshua Turner.

Ian Pelz: {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Joshua Turner: {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

Pelz had two live cards but the {q-Spades}{6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop meant he was in trouble. The {10-Hearts} on the turn gave him some life but the {5-Diamonds} on the river was no help as he exited the tournament room.

Ace-High Good for Hoffman

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Joseph Hoffman raised in the hijack and Lu Yuan defended his big blind.

The flop came {j-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and Yuan check-called a bet from Hoffman.

The {q-Diamonds} hit the turn and Yuan check-called once again.

The {5-Hearts} completed the board and Yuan quickly checked. Hoffman thought about it for a brief moment and checked back. "Jack is good," Hoffman said.

Yuan tabled {10-Hearts}{9-Spades} for a busted straight draw and Hoffman took down the pot with {a-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}.

Yeung led out on the flop of {6-Spades}{j-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and both opponents called. Yeung led out again on the {4-Hearts} turn and, this time, both opponents folded.

"I had something," Yeung said before flashing the {j-Clubs}
