Lang's Lead Lengthens

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Michael Lang
Michael Lang

We picked up action with Michael Lang calling the all in bet of a player at risk on the button, with three cards {j-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{10-Spades} displayed across the felt. Lang had his challenger covered by a strong margin, and the cards we flipped for all to see.

Button: {a-Spades}{j-Spades}
Michael Lang: {8-Spades}{9-Spades}

The button pushed with top pair and best kicker, but Lang was open-ended for the straight.

It was a shock to the button, when the {7-Diamonds} fell on the turn, giving Lang the best possible hand. After the {3-Hearts} came on the river it was official that Lang became your current chip leader, and another player was eliminated after the bubble burst.

Eychenne Busts Right on the Bubble

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

There was 65,000 in the middle on a completed board of {2-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{2-Spades}{k-Spades}{10-Hearts} and Thomas Eychenne was facing a bet of 100,000 from Barry Hutter, enough to put him all in.

Eychenne was in the tank, hoping the bubble would burst. He heard what he thought was the final player bursting from the bubble, and he called.

Hutter turned over {a-Spades}{a-Clubs} and Eychenne's {j-Clubs}{j-Clubs} was beaten, unfortunately, it seemed the tournament did indeed need to lose one more player and he appeared to be it.

All remaining players are now in the money.

Platt Plays it to River

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Jeff Platt
Jeff Platt

Diogo Veiga bet 25,000 from the cutoff on a flop of {a-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{9-Hearts}, and Jeff Platt called from late position.

The {6-Hearts} turn completed a possible flush, and Platt checked it to Veiga on his left. Following suit, Veiga checked as well.

On the river {7-Diamonds}, Platt announced a raise to 31,000, that almost sounded like he was commentating on it.

Veiga looked over at Platt, before dropping his cards face down in the middle, and Platt won without showdown.

Biagini Goes Runner Runner to Crack Aces

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Richard Malone had Daniel Biagini all in and at-risk preflop.

Daniel Biagini: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}
Richard Malone: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}

Malone was way in front with pocket aces and it stayed that way on the {2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{q-Spades} flop. The turn {10-Clubs} brought Biagini a glimmer of hope, and that prayer was answered on the {j-Hearts} river as Biagini made Broadway to crack aces and double up.

D'Ambrosio Pulls Off "Sickest Bluff of the Tournament"

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Jimmy D'Ambrosio
Jimmy D'Ambrosio

There was an early position open and four players called to go five ways to a {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}{j-Spades} flop.

Action checked through to the {7-Hearts} turn and checked again to Richard Malone, who bet 16,000.

Jimmy D'Ambrosio then raised it up to 39,000 from the big blind and Malone called.

The river brought the {j-Hearts} and D'Ambrosio shoved all in, enough to cover Malone's remaining 110,000.

After some time in the tank, Malone folded.

D'Ambrosio turned over {9-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for a stone-cold bluff, much to the amusement of the table.

"Sometimes you gotta bully with the nine-high," said D'Ambrosio.

Jaka For All of It

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Faraz Jaka
Faraz Jaka

Faraz Jaka pushed for 141,000 from the big blind for his entire stack, and one player wanted to see his holdings from the button. Jaka's opponent had him covered.

Faraz Jaka: {a-Spades}{5-Diamonds}
Button: {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}

There was an ace in the window, but the flop was meant for Jaka as it came {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{8-Hearts}, giving him two pair over the button's top pair.

The turn {j-Clubs} didn't hurt Jaka, nor did the {2-Hearts} river.

Jaka cooly collected his pot, barely cracking a smile as onlookers commented on the weaker ace winning.
