Negreanu Eliminated by Kornuth

Level 15 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

After Phil Ivey opened in early position and Chance Kornuth called in middle position, Daniel Negreanu moved all in on the button for almost 1,100,000.

David Peters took some time in the big blind before folding, then Ivey folded to Kornuth who made the call, putting Negreanu at risk.

Daniel Negreanu: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Chance Kornuth: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

"Kid Poker" had Kornuth dominated, and remained ahead on the {2-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} flop.

Kornuth picked up a flush draw on the turn with the {4-Diamonds}, and on the river, the dealer dropped the {q-Hearts}, prompting Negreanu to drop his vlogging phone, as the card ended the Poker Hall of Famer's day just two places short of the money.

Kornuth Bullies Imsirovic

Level 16 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Chance Kornuth opened to 160,000 from the cutoff. Ali Imsirovic responded with a three-bet to 400,000 from the button and the blinds folded to bring the action back to Kornuth. After sizing up his opponent's stack, the chipleader decided to four-bet to 2,000,000, enough to convince Imsirovic to fold his hand.

Peters Takes a Chunk from Aldemir

Level 16 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

David Peters opened under the gun to 160,000. Action folded around to Koray Aldemir in the big blind who decided to defend.

Aldemir checked the {2-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{8-Spades} flop to Peters who continued for 325,000. Aldemir made the call to send both players to the turn.

Aldemir and Peters slowed down on the {7-Spades} turn. The {j-Hearts} river put four to a straight on the board. Aldemir checked for a third time. Peters counted out a bet of 800,000 and Aldemir responded with a raise to over 3,000,000. Peters snap-called and showed {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} for the rivered straight, good enough to take down the largest pot of the final table so far.

Battle of the Big Stacks

Level 17 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Since David Peters joined Chance Kornuth atop the chip counts, the two haven't been afraid to mix it up with each other a bit on the bubble.

After Kornuth opened to 160,000 in early position, Peters called in the cutoff.

On a flop of {2-Hearts}{2-Spades}{9-Diamonds}, Kornuth continued for 170,000. Peters then methodically cut out a raise and put forward 460,000 chips.

Kornuth folded to minimize the damage, but this won't be the last time we see these high roller titans collide.

Aldemir Doubles Through Kornuth

Level 17 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Chance Kornuth raised from early position to 200,000. Action folded to Koray Aldemir in the cutoff who shoved his remaining 305,000 into the middle. The other players got out of the way to send the action back to Kornuth who called to put Aldemir at risk.

Koray Aldemir: {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Chance Kornuth: {10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}

Aldemir was in a good position to double up and avoid bursting the bubble. He did just that, fading Kornuth's outs on the {7-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{k-Spades}{6-Clubs}{5-Clubs} runout to get back to just above starting stack.
