End of the Road for Zack

Level 14 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

"I am dead," Daniel Zack said after he got it in against Scott Seiver on the {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop.

Zack's {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds} was in very rough shape versus Seiver's {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and that didn't change either on the {8-Clubs} turn and {9-Diamonds} river.

Kornuth Sends Foxen to the Rail

Level 14 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Chance Kornuth
Chance Kornuth

Alex Foxen and Chance Kornuth got their chips in after the {j-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop and both held pocket aces in the following showdown.

Alex Foxen: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}
Chance Kornuth: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}

The {7-Spades} turn improved Kornuth to a straight and the {q-Spades} river became a formality as Foxen was knocked out. Upon collecting the chips, Kornuth was given verbal congratulations from tables nearby. Aaron Katz walked over and asked "how am I supposed to beat this guy" while pointing at Kornuth.

Galfond Can't Catch a Break

Level 13 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Phil Galfond
Phil Galfond

On a flop of {10-Hearts}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts}, Phil Galfond and Sam Soverel got their chips into the middle with Soverel as the player at risk.

Sam Soverel: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}{8-Spades}{4-Hearts}
Phil Galfond: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{6-Hearts}

The {6-Spades} turn provided the second flush draw but the {q-Hearts} on the river secured the double up for Soverel, which left Galfond on fumes. Their table broke right after and Galfond was no more a few moments later.

Mercier Takes From Zinno With Boat

Level 13 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Action came in on the river as the board read {8-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{3-Spades}. Into a pot of about 80,000, Jason Mercier bet 59,000 from the big blind.

Anthony Zinno took a moment before he called.

Mercier tabled the {j-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{2-Spades} for a full house as he scooped up the pot.

Ivey and Deeb Ousted

Level 13 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Shaun Deeb
Shaun Deeb

The board read {4-Spades}{a-Clubs}{8-Spades}{6-Hearts} on the turn. From the big blind, Shaun Deeb bet 80,000. Michael Heritsch put a stack of the big neon green chips forward to force Deeb all in who called.

Heritsch flipped over the straight with {7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}, Deeb shrugged in frustration and tabled the {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{k-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} top set. The river did not pair the board as the {7-Clubs} came off and Deeb was eliminated shortly after the end of the registration period.

Meanwhile, Phil Ivey was seen getting up as his chips were being pushed toward Jared Bleznick as the field lost two premier names in the span of a minute of each other.

Yockey Felted by Yankov

Level 13 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Bryce Yockey
Bryce Yockey

The cards were already flipped over when Bryce Yockey had vaulted out of his seat. Yockey's {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} had flopped two pair on {7-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Clubs} but they failed to hold up against the {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}{8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} of Krasimir Yankov when the latter got there thanks to the {3-Diamonds} turn and {6-Hearts} river.

Soon after, Iaroslav Boiko was also sent to the rail as well as the rapid pace of eliminations continued.
