Klein Falls to Mateos

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Bill Klein
Bill Klein

There was three way action on a flop of {8-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{9-Clubs}, and action was checked to Adrian Mateos under the gun, who bet 60,000. Tim McDermott called in the small blind, and Bill Klein shoved for 230,000 from the big blind. Mateos also announced all-in, and McDermott got out of the way.

Bill Klein: {6-Spades}{3-Spades}
Adrian Mateos: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}

"I'm on a draw," said Klein.

The turn was the {k-Spades}, and Klein would need would need some help on the river, but the {2-Spades} didn't help and he was eliminated.

Just minutes before, Chris Brewer was also sent to the rail.

Ogilvie Rivers Khalaf

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Hanna Khalaf moved all-in for 75,000 from early position and Lucas Ogilvie called from middle position, with all subsequent action folding.

Hanna Khalaf: {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}
Lucas Ogilvie: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

The flop came out {7-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} which was relatively safe for Khalaf and the turn {4-Clubs} brought no additional outs. The river {k-Clubs} however, swayed the favor towards Ogilvie who rivered kings-up to eliminate Khalaf.

McDermott's Pre-Pay Equity Works

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Tim McDermott moved all-in for his remaining 98,000 in early position and action folded to Martin Czuczor in the big blind who called.

Tim McDermott: {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Martin Czuczor: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}

"98,000, ready to pay it out," said McDermott as the flop came out {k-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}, giving McDermott top pair still trailing the aces. "98,000," he repeated on the {6-Clubs} turn. The river came out the {q-Spades} and McDermott improved to kings-up to best the overpair of Czuczor as his pre-pay maneuver seemed to have worked for the double.

Hu and Hood Play For Stacks

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Anthony Hu made a bet that appeared to be an all-in of 147,000 from middle position after the board was {9-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{q-Spades}{4-Hearts}, with 180,000 already in the pot. Shawn Hood thought for a moment before throwing a single green chip to make the call, but Hu had left himself a single red chip worth 5,000.

The river was the {2-Spades}, and after some time, Hu eventually checked with the smallest stack in the room. Hood threw in the 5,000 bet to put him at risk, and Hu took his time deciding.

He could be heard asking, "Are we still at seventy-two?"

There was a pay jump looming and Hu continued to wait, until both the clock and floor manager were called to the table. With ten seconds left, Hu made the call and both players turned over their hands.

Anthony Hu: {j-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Shawn Hood: {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

Both players had flopped top pair and made two pair on the river, but Hood's kicker was best which sent Hu to the payout desk.
