Zack's Ascent Continues

Daniel Zack has enjoyed a red-hot start to the day. The same cannot be said, however, of Yuval Bronshtein. Bronshtein opened from the cutoff and Zack three-bet out of the big blind. Bronshtein called to send the two to the initial draw.

Zack took one card to Bronshtein's two and action then checked through to the second draw, where the same drawing pattern was repeated. This time Zack led out and was called.

Zack took one more card on the final draw and then fired off another bet after Bronshtein stood pat. Bronshtein thought long and hard about his decision but eventually found a fold to keep Zack chipping and send himself slipping down the chip counts.

Siegel drew two and Bronshtein drew one. Siegel checked and Bronshtein bet. Siegel raised and Bronshtein re-raised with Siegel all in for 130,000.

Siegel stood pat and Bronshtein agonized over his decision before patting behind. Siegel tabled {8-}{6-}{4-}{3-}{2-} and Bronshtein, who held {8-}{7-}{6-}{5-}{2-} asked to see what the top card was. The top card was a {3-} — he would have made a seven — but as it was he doubled Siegel up.

Brian Hastings opened from the cutoff and action folded to Yuval Bronshtein in the small blind, who three-bet. Hastings called to send the two players heads-up to the initial draw.

Bronshtein took one card to Hasting's two and then bet out. Hastings, after asking how much Bronshtein had behind, raised enough to put his opponent all in. Bronsthein made the call to put himself at risk.

Bronhstein stood pat on the second draw while Hastings took one. The same pattern was repeated during the final draw after which Bronshtein revealed he held {8-}{7-}{6-}. Hastings turned over {7-}{5-}{4-}{3-} before peeling {8-} to pip Bronshtein and send him home in 7th.

The second draw saw both players take two cards and action then checked through to the final draw where Wasserson took another two and Hastings drew just one. Wasserson then checked and Hastings fired out a bet, only to see Wasserson raise. Hastings did not hesitate before tossing his hand into the muck.
