Hastings Wins Battle of the Blinds

Action folded around to Brian Hastings in the small blind who opened. Koray Aldemir flatted out of the big blind to send the two players heads-up to the initial draw.

Both players took two cards on the first draw after which Hastings led into Aldemir, who called.

Hastings stood pat on the second draw before firing off another bet after Aldemir drew two. Aldemir paused before deciding to call.

The final draw saw Hastings stand pat once more and Aldemir take one last card. Action checked through and Hastings showed to take down the pot and move him back up over the 200,000 mark.

Matt Glantz' seat was empty at a table with Brian Hastings and Matthew Schreiber.

Hastings drew two and Schreiber one, with Hastings check-calling a bet from his opponent.

On the second draw, both players drew one. Hastings checked again and Schreiber bet. This time Hasting check-raised. Schreiber pondered his decision, counting out his chips, before eventually calling.

Both players stood pat. Hastings bet and Schreiber called.

"Number two," said Hastings tabling and Schreiber mucked.

On the first draw, both William O'Neil and Shaun Deeb drew two. O'Neil bet and Deeb called. O'Neil stood pat and Deeb drew two again.

O'Neil bet and Deeb open-mucked . "I saw you lick your lips at your first card!" said Deeb.

On the very next hand, David "ODB" Baker was all in before the first draw and was called by Christopher Claassen in the big blind.

Baker drew one and then pat the next two draws, while Claassen drew three and then drew two on both subsequent draws.

Baker tabled and Claassen was live with . However, he paired with and Baker scored the double up.

Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier opened from under the gun and faced a three-bet from Andrew Kelsall one seat over. Action folded back around to Grospellier who made the call.

On the first draw Grospellier took two cards while Kelsall stood pat. Grospellier then checked to the initial three-bettor, who continued and was called.

The second draw saw Grospellier take just one card and Kelsall again stand pat after which Grospellier check-called another bet from the Floridian.

Both players stood pat during the final draw and action checked through. Grospellier tabled and, tossing his hand facedown into the middle, Kelsall said, "I keep winning the hands I'm supposed to lose and losing the hands I'm supposed to win".

Elsewhere, start of day chipleader Oscar Johannson as well as David "ODB" Baker were seen exiting the tournament area.

On the first draw both players took two cards and Claassen check-called the continuation from Sagstrom.

The second draw saw each player take just one card. This time Claassen led into Sagstrom who smooth-called.

Claassen stood pat during the final draw while Sagstrom took one last card. Action then checked through and Claassen turned over to take down the pot and move up over 300,000.

Before the first draw, Ali Eslami opened and Matthew Edgar made it three bets from the next position. Philip Long cold-called in the big blind. Eslami made it four bets and Edgar made it five bets with Long calling again.

On the first draw, Long drew two, with both Eslami and Edgar drawing one.

Long checked and Eslami bet. Edgar called before Long check-raised. Eslami made it three bets and Edgar called. Long made it four bets and got two calls.

Long stood pat, Eslami drew one with Edgar also standing pat. Long bet and got two calls.

The three remaining players all stood pat on the final draw. Long bet and Eslami called. Edgar raised and Long called, with Eslami folding.

"Seventy-five smooth," said Edgar tabling a wheel . "Nutter-butter!"
