Lo with the Snow(men)

Level 2 : 100/200, 200 ante

On a heads-up board of {j-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{8-Hearts}, the under-the-gun player checked to his opponent in the hijack, Jeffrey Lo.

Lo then bet 3,600, which made his opponent ponder his next decision. After scoping out Lo and his chip stack, the under-the-gun player then raised all-in. Lo snap-called and flipped his cards over to reveal {8-Clubs}{8-Spades} for a turned set.

"Oh wow, nice hand," his opponent told Lo, as he tabled {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds} for two pair.

The river was the {6-Hearts} which meant Lo won the pot with his set of eights.

Culot Takes it Down

Level 2 : 100/200, 200 ante

Philippe Culot fired for 500 from the cutoff, getting calls from the small blind, the big blind, and from the under-the-gun player.

The {3-Clubs}{2-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop was checked through before the small blind bet 1,100 on the {j-Hearts} turn. The big blind and the under-the-gun player got out of the way before Culot put in the call.

The {j-Spades} river elicited another barrel from the small blind, this time for 2,500. Culot made the call and turned over {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} for running trips. His opponent tossed his hand in the muck as Culot scooped the pot.

Ferketa's Aces Hold to Double Up

Level 2 : 100/200, 200 ante

Action was picked up with 13,000 already in the pot and a board of {j-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{q-Clubs}. The middle position player had bet 6,000 before Daniel Ferketa, in the cutoff, moved all in for about 11,000. His opponent thought for a minute or two, before making the call with Ferketa covered.

Daniel Ferketa: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}
Opponent: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}

With Ferketa ahead, the {7-Diamonds} turn changed nothing while the {a-Diamonds} river improved Ferketa's hand to a set. He scooped the pot and doubled his stack heading into the first break of the day.

Englishwright Takes Pot with Broadway

Level 3 : 200/300, 300 ante

Action was picked up with 5 players having paid 700 to see the {j-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{q-Spades} flop. The big blind fired for 1,500. Two players folded before the under-the-gun player made the call, as did Riyman Englishwright in the small blind.

On the {4-Hearts} turn, the big blind fired for another 1,500. This time, the under-the-gun player folded before Englishwright put in the call.

On the {4-Spades} river, it was Englishwright who bet 7,000. The big blind made the call and Englishwright turned over {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds} for the Broadway straight.

"Only two cards that beat me," his opponent said as he turned over {8-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} for the queen high straight. Another player at the table was quick to mention that this wasn't true, as he had folded {j-}{4-} which would have been good for a full house. Nevertheless, Englishwright scooped the pot to add to his stack.

Foster Hits Double Whammy

Level 3 : 200/300, 300 ante

On a flop of {10-Clubs}{7-Spades}{k-Spades}, the player in middle position had just moved all in. The big blind and Cecilia Foster in early position both called.

On the {k-Clubs} turn, the big blind then moved all in himself for 10,800, which Foster quickly called and all three players tabled their cards.

Middle position: {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Big blind: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}
Cecilia Foster: {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}

The {q-Hearts} on the river gave the middle position Broadway but it also gave Foster a full house, queens full of kings.

"Yes!" she shouted as she scooped the big pot after scoring a double knockout.

Senic Keeps Barreling

Level 3 : 200/300, 300 ante

After the hijack raised to 800, Andrej Senic reraised to 2,300 from the cutoff, getting a call from only the hijack.

On the {3-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} flop, the hijack fired for 2,500. After some thought, Senic raised him again, this time to 6,500, and his opponent again found the call.

The hijack checked the {3-Spades} to Senic, who fired for 20,000. The hijack thought for just a moment or two before mucking. Senic turned over {k-Clubs}{j-Spades}, showing just king high to go with the paired board without any draws.
