Magnuson Gets There Against Raymer

Level 7 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Greg Raymer
Greg Raymer

Daniel Magnuson limped in early position and another player limped before 2004 WSOP Main Event champion Greg Raymer raised to 5,000 in middle position. Both of his opponents called.

The action checked to Raymer on the flop of {a-Spades}{7-Spades}{10-Spades} and he bet 7,500. Only Magnuson called.

Magnuson checked again on the {9-Clubs} turn and Raymer checked back. Magnus checked once more on the {8-Spades} river and Raymer again checked back.

Raymer showed {a-Diamonds}{k-} for a pair of aces but it was no good against the {a-Hearts}{4-Spades} of Magnuson for a rivered flush.

"That's for the king-jack hand earlier!" Magnuson told Raymer.

"I genuinely have no idea what you're talking about," Raymer replied.

Mueller Pips Opponent

Level 7 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

The hijack opened to 3,300 and Brandon Mueller called from the cutoff, while the button also came along.

The flop landed {6-Hearts}{q-Spades}{4-Diamonds} and the cutoff continued with a bet of 3,500. Only Mueller called.

The hijack fired for 5,200 on the {3-Clubs} turn and Mueller again called. The river brought the {4-Spades} and the hijack checked. Mueller put out a pink chip for a bet of 5,000 and the opponent called.

Mueller tabled {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} for nines and fours, and the opponent let out a painful sigh as he showed {8-}{8-} for a smaller two pair.

Henderson Makes Huge Fold

Level 7 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Action was picked up after the flop of {5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}, and 45,000 already in the middle.

Jim Rafferty was small blind and bet 8,000 on the {6-Hearts} turn. Justin Henderson flicked in chips for a call, and the final card on the board was the {j-Clubs}.

Rafferty wasn't slowing down. It was a shove for his remaining 85,000, but Henderson wasn't going away without considering every option (including the call for his tournament life).

One of the many floor managers were called over to the table for a clock, but several other tables had called for one as well.

More than two minutes had passed, and Hendrickson addressed the table.

"It's a tough one guys... You have pocket twos?"

Without a response from Rafferty, Hendrickson folded {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades} face up, and many at the table were impressed
he let a rivered set go.

Rafferty responded by flashing the {4-Hearts}, confirming Henrickson's suspicion about the possible straight beating his three jacks.

Luong In Contention

Level 7 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

With 8,000 chips in the middle with a flop of {10-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Spades}, Tina Luong bet 7,000 from middle position. The big blind shoved all in for 41,000 and was called by Luong.

Big Blind: {j-Clubs}{4-Clubs}
Tina Luong: {2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}

The big blind was delighted when the {q-Clubs} fell on the turn, however, it was Luong celebrating when the {10-Diamonds} landed on the river for a full house. Luong revealed she has knocked four players out so far and is now pushing towards the top of the chip counts.

Misonne Flops Two-Pair in Multi-Way Pot

Level 8 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

According to the table the action pre-flop was limped around by three players. With a pot of roughly 4,800 on a flop of {a-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} Jacques Misonne bet 4,200 which was quickly raised to 11,500 by the under the gun opponent. Both players called.

On the {10-Diamonds} turn Misonne now checked to the aggressor who bet 10,000. Both middle-position and Misonne made the call.

The river came the {5-Clubs} and Misonne again checked. The opponent next to act picked the same sizing as the previous street betting 10,000. Middle-position called, as did Misonne. The hands were tabled.

Jacques Misonne: {9-Hearts}{8-Spades}
Opponent: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
Opponent: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}

Misonne flopped two-pair and won the pot, rocketing his stack up the leaderboard.

Tulcan's Two Pair Holds

Level 8 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Joshua Tulcan raised from middle position to 3,000 and was called by the big blind.

Tulcan continued on the {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{5-Spades} flop for 3,500 before being raised to 13,000 by his opponent. Tulcan called.

The turn brought the {k-Clubs} and the big blind moved Tulcan all in by betting 50,000. Tulcan made the call. The big blind showed {8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for a flush draw which left Tulcan ahead with his top two pair {k-Spades}{10-Spades}.

The river was the {a-Hearts} which secured Tulcan the double up.

Grant Hungry For Food Rather Than Chips

Level 8 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Calum Grant
Calum Grant

Calum Grant decided that he wasn't prepared to wait through a 40 minute break to come back to a short stack and shoved from the hijack for 16,000. Akichika Maruhashi on the button, who he had history with already for chopping AT vs A6, called him off and the blinds folded.

Calum Grant: {a-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} (again)
Akichika Maruhashi: {a-Spades}{8-Hearts}

Calls for another chop fell on deaf ears this time however, as the board ran out:

{10-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{5-Clubs}

Grant was unable to continue his run and was more thankful he wouldn't have to continue a short stack grind after the break.
