Brewer Left Baffled

Level 7 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

There was a board reading {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} spread across the felt with Nilesh Patel and Chris Brewer heads-up in a pot. Patel checked from the big blind and Brewer made a bet of 205,000 from the hijack. Patel check-raised to 575,000 and Brewer called.

The river was the {2-Spades} and Patel checked again. Brewer instantly checked it back and Patel turned over {j-Clubs}{8-Spades} for just a pair of jacks. Brewer was left baffled at the result, especially since he was forced to send his cards to the muck.
