Sammartino's Ace-High is Good

Level 7 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Justin Bonomo opened to 30,000 in the cutoff and was called by Dario Sammartino and Steven Veneziano in the blinds. The flop came {j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and the action checked to Bonomo who continued for 30,000. Sammartino called and Veneziano stepped aside.

The turn brought the {10-Diamonds} and Sammartino checked again. Bonomo tossed in another bet of 70,000 but Sammartino still called. The river was the {6-Hearts} and both players tapped the table. Sammartino turned over {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} for ace-high and Bonomo was forced to muck his cards.
