Rast Pays Off Kenney; Busts to Fraser

Level 7 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Brian Rast
Brian Rast

No-Limit Hold'em

On the tail end of a heads-up pot between Brian Rast and Bryn Kenney, the board showed {k-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{10-Hearts}. Rast checked and then faced a bet worth 19,000 by Kenney, which sent him into a tank. The reluctant call followed and Kenney had the best hand in {j-Spades}{10-Clubs} to leave Rast with his head shaking.

Two hands later, Rast opened to 9,000 off a short stack and Chris Fraser eyeballed the chips of his table neighbor before pushing all in with a near identical stack in the small blind. Kenney forfeited the big blind and Rast instantly called.

Brian Rast: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Chris Fraser: {a-Spades}{3-Hearts}

The {10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop kept Rast in the lead but Fraser picked up additional outs on the {5-Clubs} turn. Sure enough, the {4-Diamonds} fell on the river to give Fraser a wheel and the stacks were counted. Rast had 94,500 and was covered by a mere 1,500, and eliminated.
