Cates Takes the Lead for Now

Level 18 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Limit 2-7 Trriple Draw

John Racener and Dan Cates were involved in a larger 2-7 Triple Draw hand and had already surpassed the second draw when Racener bet, Cates raised and Racener made it three bets to pick up a call. Both patted the final draw and Cates check-called a bet.

Racener flashed a bad nine-seven and Cates won the pot with the {9-}{7-}{4-}{3-}{2-} for a nine smooth. He then lost a few chips in the next hand but remained near the top of the leaderboard.
