Cates Increases Lead Without Showdown; Dzivielevski Wins Some Back

Level 26 : 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante

Limit Hold'em

Dan Cates raised with the {9-Spades}{8-Spades} and Yuri Dzivielevski three-bet with the {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}, which was called by Cates. On the {a-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{5-Spades} flop, Dzivielevski bet with his king-high and Cates stuck around with a gutshot and flush draw. Nothing changed on the {4-Clubs} turn except that Dzivielevski now checked and faced a bet.

After mulling it over for a while, Dzivielevski opted to fold and lost further precious chips.

Dzivielevski then raised the {a-Spades}{j-Spades} and Cates three-bet in the big blind with {a-Hearts}{q-Spades} for the duo to see the {k-Spades}{6-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop. Another bet by Cates was called and the {j-Hearts} turn improved Dzivielevski, who faced a bet by Cates and made the call.

The {7-Hearts} fell on the river and Cates, still out of his chair and observing the action like a hawk, slowly grabbed chips before checking. Dzivielevski now bet and Cates reluctantly paid it off as the Brazilian pulled some chips back.
