Table Captain Shows Strength

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Day 2 chip leader Robert Schuler called a bet of 75,000 on the {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}{q-Spades}{q-Hearts} turn to see the {2-Diamonds} river.

Vaughn Youtz decided to slow down and check, and Schuler fired out what looked like 150,000 to win the pot.

Joining the action on the turn with the board {q-Hearts}{10-Spades}{8-Spades}{j-Spades} and action checked to William Clark who bet 50,000 on the button. Only Carolyn Niekerk called from under the gun.

The river was the {a-Spades} and Niekerk checked to Clark who bet 100,000. Niekerk quickly called. Clark turned over {a-}{j-} for two pair but it was no good as Niekerk had {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} for a set of eights to win the pot..

"Jimmy The C" Rides the Roller Coaster

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
James Cerrotta
James Cerrotta

James Cerrotta, better known as "Jimmy The C" (Concierge) to the staff around here, just survived a sick all in.

Cerrotta had shoved for his last 215,000 and was called by Ronald Peterson.

James Cerrotta: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Ronal Peterson: {3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}

Cerrotta was way in front with his overpair but that changed on the {8-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{3-Hearts} flop as Peterson hit the two-outer for a set of treys.

"God D****t," shouted Cerrotta as he stood up.

But the {j-Diamonds} turn binked Cerrotta his own two-outer for a set of jacks.

"Wow I can sit down again," said Cerrotta.

The {5-} completed the board and Cerrotta's ride continued.

Somchub Finds Three Ladies

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

"Wooo," was heard across the mostly empty and silent room here in the opening minutes.

Kanokvan Somchub was standing up and jumping up and down.

Her {q-Spades}{q-Hearts} pocket queens had just cracked Dennis Underwood's {k-}{k-} pocket kings on the {7-}{j-}{10-}{2-}{q-} runout.

The cowboys went up in flames and Somchub scored the knockout with a set of queens.

Elliott Sends Gladwell Out

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

William Elliott already had a raise of 120,000 committed when James Gladwell shoved for 295,000 more and Elliott called.

James Gladwell: {k-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
William Elliott: {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

Elliott had a slight advantage, but that became a huge advantage on the {a-Clubs}{10-Spades}{5-Spades} flop. The turn and river changed nothing as Elliott crossed the million chip mark.
