Ausmus Takes One but Trails Ivey

Level 8 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

Jeremy Ausmus limp-called after Ivey raised to 11,000.

On the {10-Spades}{6-Hearts}{4-Hearts} flop, Ivey led for 10,000 and was called, then check-folded on the {8-Clubs} turn against a bet of 16,000 by Ausmus.

Ausmus claimed the small pot, yet still trails Ivey who holds a somewhat sizable lead after winning previous hands.

Ivey Picking Away at Ausmus

Level 8 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

Phil Ivey limped in on the button and Jeremy Ausmus checked his option. The flop came {a-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and Ausmus check-called a bet of 3,000 from Ivey.

The turn was the {10-Hearts} and Ausmus checked again. Ivey fired out another bet of 10,000 and Ausmus still called. The river was the {3-Hearts} and Ausmus checked for the third time. Ivey checked it back and Ausmus tabled {k-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for a pair of deuces. Ivey rolled over {6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} for a rivered pair of threes to chip away at Ausmus' stack.

Kruse Doubles Up Through Stanford

Level 9 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

Max Kruse and William Stanford got involved in an all-in race, with the former Germany international forward winning the flip.

Kruse opened to 10,000 and Stanford raised to 33,000. Kruse shoved his remaining stack and was called.

Kruse turned over {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}, while Stanford showed his {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}.

The {k-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{6-Hearts} flop was especially kind to Kruse, who held on as a {j-Diamonds} and {7-Spades} completed the board.

Stanford Flops Two Pair to Eliminate Kruse, Foxen also Advances

Level 9 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

In a single-raised pot, William Stanford and Max Kruse headed to a flop of {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}. It only took a couple of raises before all the chips were in the middle with Kruse being the player at risk.

Max Kruse: {k-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
William Stanford: {j-Hearts}{3-Spades}

Kruse flopped top pair but Stanford woke up with two pair to hold a big lead. The {a-Diamonds} on the turn and the {5-Clubs} on the river provided no help for Kruse was eliminated. That means Stanford will go on to play Dario Sammartino in the third round.

Alex Foxen also closed out his match with Isaac Kempton and will await the winner of Dan Smith and Laszlo Bujtas who are in an even matchup as of now.

DeStefano Eliminates Elias; Ivey and Kornuth Advance

Level 9 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

Darren Elias opened to 9,000, Dylan DeStefano three-bet to 30,000, and Elias shoved for around 230,000. DeStefano quickly called.

Darren Elias: {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}
Dylan DeStefano: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}

The {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{7-Spades} flop vaulted DeStefano ahead, and the {10-Spades} and {7-Clubs} changed nothing to send DeStefano to the next round, while Elias was eliminated.

Meanwhile at other tables, Phil Ivey finished off Jeremy Ausmus to advance, and Chance Kornuth defeated Marius Gierse.

Vogelsang and Kennedy Get Shoves Through

Level 10 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

The board read {6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{2-Clubs} and Joao Vieira led out with a bet of 40,000 into a pot of 100,000. Christoph Vogelsang called and the {8-Diamonds} completed the board. Vieira checked this time and Vogelsang shoved all in. Vieira was forced to lay his hand down, leaving himself with just 101,000 chips.

At another table next door, Joshua Heinzl raised to 13,000 on the button and Patrick Kennedy three-bet to 55,000. Heinzl called and the flop of {k-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{2-Spades} hit the felt.

Kennedy continued with a bet of 25,000 and Heinzl stuck around to see the {5-Diamonds} on the turn. Kennedy moved all in this time and Heinzl quickly sent his cards to the muck.

Just a couple of hands later, Heinzl was seen getting up from his seat and heading for the exit as Kennedy won the match and will advance to Round 3 tomorrow.
