Queens Cruel to Lamontagne

Level 30 : 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante

Michael Lamontagne moved all in preflop and Thomas Peebles called for less while the rest of the table folded. The two players tabled their cards, with Peebles at risk.

Thomas Peebles: {q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Michael Lamontagne: {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

Although Lamontagne was way ahead on the flop of {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}{2-Diamonds}, the turn {k-Spades} was a gut punch as Peebles made Broadway. The river {8-Diamonds} changed nothing and Peebles scored a double up and Lamontagne was left with only 725,000.

The very next hand Lamontagne went all in again and was called by the chipleader Kyle Montgomery. But this time Montgomery was the one with {q-Hearts}{q-Spades} while Lamontagne tabled {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}.

"Hey, maybe you'll hit a straight," someone at the table joked to Lamontagne.

The flop of {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} looked very familiar to Lamontagne, as he was looking for any king or ten to win, but the runout of {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} did not do it for him and he was eliminated.

Yanicelli's Ladies

Level 31 : 125,000/250,000, 250,000 ante

Action was picked up with cards on their backs with John Sova having shoved his last 1,400,000 in the cutoff and Sebastian Yanicelli who called in the big blind.

John Sova: {a-Spades}{7-Spades}
Sebastian Yanicelli: {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

The board ran out {q-Spades}{9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and the full house on the turn was enough to eliminate Sova from the tournament.

Just moments before, Sid Kudtarkar was eliminated from the tournament after his ace-king could not improve against his opponents pocket tens.

Rollercoaster Runout Leaves Lonis With Kings Full

Level 31 : 125,000/250,000, 250,000 ante
Jessie Lonis
Jessie Lonis

Jesse Lonis opened to 550,000 from under the gun and bracelet winner Rulah Divine three-bet jammed a stack of about 2,500,000 from the big blind. Lonis snap-called when the action got around.

Rulah Divine: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Jesse Lonis: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}

Lonis had a premium and improved to top set on the flop of {10-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}, which also gave Divine a gutshot. Those at the table gasped when the {j-Diamonds} gave Divine the straight and then gasped once more when the {4-Diamonds} on the river paired the board to improve Lonis to a full house to Divine.

"Honestly, I don't like the flop," Lonis said, noting that it gave his opponent more outs than he had preflop.

Littlewood Ascending

Level 32 : 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

Thomas Peebles moved all in from the cutoff for 3,000,000 and in the small blind, Keith Littlewood called and the cards were turned over.

Thomas Peebles: {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}
Keith Littlewood: {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}

The board ran out {4-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{j-Hearts} and the river jack was enough to see Littlewood's stack ascend as one of the biggest stacks in the room.

At another table, Jake Schwartz was eliminated.

Bishop Shows the Bluff

Level 32 : 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

After a 300,000 raise preflop, Young Sik Eum and Timothy Bishop saw a flop of {7-Clubs}{2-Spades}{5-Diamonds}. Bishop check-called a bet of 425,000 from Eum.

On the turn {9-Spades}, Bishop led out for 650,000, and after a few seconds Eum called.

The river came the {6-Hearts} and Bishop open-jammed, covering Eum.

"Ah, that was a fun hand," Eum told Bishop as he slowly made the fold.

"I'll show it one time for PokerNews," said Bishop as he showed {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for just ace-high.

"Nice bet, nice bet," Eum replied as he tapped the table. This hand put Bishop in the chip lead with 13,000,000.
