Lee Chops to Stay in Contention

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Kyung Lee was already awaiting his fate prior to the {k-Spades}{6-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{6-Spades}{4-Diamonds} river on which Richard Weeks and Max Pescatori checked it down. Lee tabled the {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} for the nut low and won half the pot as Weeks earned the high half with the {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for tens and sixes.

Pescatori's cards were not shown and Jeanne David then remarked "you are welcome" to Lee.

Brown Chips Up With the Nuts

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Five ways to the {9-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{10-Spades} river, Andrew Brown bet out of the big blind. Three folds later it was upon Benny Glaser to act on the button and he called; the small blind folded. Brown tabled the {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{4-Spades} for the nut straight and won the pot.

More for Esposito Without Showdown

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante
John Esposito
John Esposito

Ruiko Mamiya defended her big blind against John Esposito and check-called a bet on the {9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} flop. Both checked the {7-Spades} on the turn and Mamiya also checked the {k-Spades} on the river. Esposito bet and that ended the hand right there, as Mamiya sent her cards into the muck.

With a stack of nearly three times the average, Esposito is among the biggest stacks in the room.

Roland No More; Calabaza Scores a Knockout

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

On a completed board of {a-Clubs}{8-Spades}{3-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}, Mark Roland flashed his {a-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{4-Spades} for aces and eights but they were beaten by the {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades} of Michael Calabaza. Wayne Diep was also involved but tossed his cards into the muck as he couldn't beat the treys full of aces by Calabaza.

Roeder Eliminated by Milano

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

The cards were already on their backs on the turn of a {a-Spades}{j-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{2-Spades} board and then instantly mucked by Ryan Roeder, who had briefly exposed two pair. However, they were no good as the {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}{q-Clubs}{j-Hearts} of Kenneth Milano had made Broadway to reduce the field of hopefuls by one.
