Rivas Sets Trap But Fails

Level 5 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

Action was three ways on the flop of {a-Spades}{9-Spades}{9-Clubs}.

Nick Rivas was under the gun and checked to his opponents. The hijack bet 2,200 and both Rivas and the early position player called.

The turn was the {7-Clubs} and action checked through.

The {2-Spades} was the river and action went check-check-check. Rivas disappointedly tabled {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} for quads as both opponents mucked.

Rivas said to PokerNews "Are you going to put on the blog that I didn't bet quads?"

Rintaro Makes Top Set

Level 5 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

Naito Rintaro was spotted with 222,000. His neighbor Zac Duce, with only 6,000 just lost a big pot against him.

In a three-bet pot, initiated by Rintaro in position, Duce explained that he check-raised from 1,600 to 5,000 on a {k-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop and was called. Then, on a {10-Clubs} turn, both players checked and on a {5-Spades} river, Duce checked again, Rintato bet 6,000, Duce check-raised to 30,000 and Rintaro clicked again to 60,000.

Duce called, Rintaro showed {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds} and he's now among the early chipleader.
