Friedman Takes Half - Thurber and Jenkins Take Quarter

Level 19

Pot-Limit Omaha 8 or Better

There was a three-way all in on a flop of {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} with 60,000 in the middle with Laurette Thurber in early position at risk for 90,500 and Mark Jenkins on the button at risk for 210,000 with Adam Friedman in the cutoff covering the other players.

Laurette Thurber: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{2-Spades}
Mark Jenkins: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}
Adam Friedman: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}{k-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

Friedman had a set, Thurber had a wrap, nut flush draw and royal flush draw and Jenkins had two pair. The {8-Clubs}{3-Hearts} completed the board to bring in the backdoor low. Friedman took half of the pot for his set of kings, with Thurber and Jenkins taking half of the low pot.

Matsumoto Eliminates an Opponent

Level 19
David Matsumoto
David Matsumoto

Big O

As the post-bubble bustout bonanza begins, 2021 final tablist David Matsumoto is responsible for one of the recent eliminations.

Christopher Schmitz committed his final 35,000 chips against Matsumoto preflop.

Christopher Schmitz: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{4-Spades}
David Matsumoto: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}

The board came {9-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{9-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}, with the running diamonds on the turn and river bringing Matsumoto a flush to eliminate Schmitz.

Meanwhile Damjan Radanov, who finished fifth in this event last year was also recently eliminated, leaving Matsumoto and Scott Abrams as the only two final table members from last year's event still alive in this year's tournament.

Boatman Sails Day 1 Chip Leader Krickl Out of the Tournament

Level 20
Kate Krickl
Kate Krickl

Day 1 Chip Leader Kate Krickl struggled to keep her momentum going today and has been eliminated by Barny Boatman.

Krickl got her last 24,000 in preflop against Boatman, while Stanley Krimerman folded {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{x-}{x-} face up, saying he wanted to be nice and give Krickl a better chance of survival.

Kate Krickl: {a-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}
Barny Boatman: {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{5-Clubs}

The board came {4-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}, with Boatman's pair of fives actually scooping the pot and eliminating Krickl

Witteles Eliminated By Pan

Level 20

Big O

Todd Witteles was all in on the big blind for 19,000 and was called by Qinghai Pan on the button.

Todd Witteles: {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{9-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}
Qinghai Pan: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Spades}

The flop of {q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{j-Hearts} gave Pan a full house and the only way Witteles could win was to hit the case {j-Diamonds} or runner-runner kings.

The {k-Hearts} on the turn gave Witteles two outs going into the river, but the {4-Hearts} completed the board and Pan took the pot and eliminated Witteles.
