Hughes Hits for a Double Up

Level 40 : Blinds 1,000,000/2,000,000, 2,000,000 ante

Kyle Miholich raised to 4,000,000 from under the gun and received a call from James Hughes in the big blind. The dealer fanned the {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} flop onto the felt. Hughes check-called Miholich's 2,500,000 bet.

The turn was a {6-Diamonds} and Hughes checked again. Miholich bet 8,500,000 and Hughes responded by shoving all in for 26,700,000 which Miholich called and cards were up.

Kyle Miholich: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}
James Hughes: {a-Hearts}{6-Hearts}

Hughes turned two pair, aces and sixes and with Miholich's top pair, he needed a king on the river to win the hand. Unfortunately for him, the river was a {9-Clubs} and he lost a big chunk of his stack doubling Hughes up.

The action folded around to Kyle Miholich in the small blind and he jammed for about 32,000,000. Rodney Turvin looked at his cards in the big blind and instantly dropped some chips across the line.

Kyle Miholich: {a-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}
Rodney Turvin: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}

Unfortunately for Miholich he ran into a bigger ace in a blind versus blind situation and the {q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{9-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{7-Spades} missed both players, eliminating Miholich in 6th place for $87,777.

Rodney Turvin raised to 4,000,000 from under the gun and found a caller in the small blind, Jed Stewart. The flop came down {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{q-Hearts} and Stewart checked to Turvin who moved all in. Stewart snap called and the cards were on their backs.

Jed Stewart: {k-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
Rodney Turvin: {a-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}

Stewart had middle pair and a flush draw while Turvin flopped top pair. "That six is going to get me." Stewart said when he saw Turvin's hand. His prophecy came true as a {6-Spades} came down on the turn, giving Turvin two pair. The river was a {4-Diamonds} which was no help for Stewart as he was eliminated in fifth place.
