Ahi Eliminates Wessel

Level 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Paul Ahi shoved on the button for about 2,500,000 and the action folded around to Mathias Wessel in the big blind who called off his stack of about 1,200,000.

Mathias Wessel: {a-Diamonds}{9-Spades}
Paul Ahi: {j-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

Ahi was dominated but the {q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{7-Spades} flop paired Ahi's jack. The {8-Spades} turn and {3-Hearts} changed nothing as Wessel waited for his payout slip.

Alexander Tafesh
Alexander Tafesh

Alexander Tafesh was in the cutoff and found himself with a good hand and opened to 240,000. The button and small blind folded to Kyle Frey, who was the big blind. Frey shoved the entire 2.2 million he had in front of him, and Tafesh was game and willing to take him on.

Kyle Frey: {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}
Alexander Tafesh: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

The board came out {2-Hearts}{7-Spades}{2-Spades}{10-Clubs}, and the {a-Clubs} on the river gave Tafesh what he needed to beat Frey's pocket pair.

Maximum Pressure from Hughes

Level 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

In a blind versus blind battle, James Hughes led out for 300,000 on the {q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{4-Spades} flop. Valdemar Kwaysser raised to 350,000 before Hughes put in a three-bet to 1,000,000. Kwaysser stuck around.

The {k-Clubs} hit the turn and Hughes announced all in, putting Kwaysser to the test and that was enough to take down the pot.

Level 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Meadows Delivers Final Blow to Brar

Level 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
James Meadows
James Meadows

James Meadows raised to 200,000 under the gun and Jaspal Brar jammed for 495,000 from a couple of spots to his left. The action folded back around to Meadows and he made the call.

Jaspal Brar: {4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}
James Meadows: {k-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

It was a classic race but the {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{8-Hearts} flop gave Meadows a massive lead. The {6-Spades} hit the turn and Brar couldn't find one of the remaining fours as the {9-Hearts} landed on the river.
