Weinman Wins Hand; Celebrates with Sushi

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Daniel Weinman
Daniel Weinman

Recent first-time bracelet winner Daniel Weinman opened to 40,000 under-the-gun and action folded around to Pavel Spirins in the small blind who defended.

The flop was {10-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{5-Spades} and Spirins checked to Weinman, who continued for 30,000 and Spirins called.

On the turn {7-Hearts} the action went check-check.

But on the {8-Diamonds} river, Spirins led out for 70,000 and Weinman snap-called. Spirins tabled {2-}{2-} for a low two pair and Weinman showed {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a better two pair. Weinman was awarded the pot and also gifted two sushi rolls for his good play by Shaun Deeb.

Deeb Makes Hero Call With Deuces

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Shaun Deeb
Shaun Deeb

Action was joined on the river as the board read {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{a-Diamonds}. The pot had about 215,000 in the middle and Matias Gabrenja was first to act from the big blind and was deep in the tank. Eventually clock was called on him and as the floor started to count down, he announced a bet to 180,000.

Shaun Deeb was in early position and thought for about ten seconds before making the fairly quick call.

Gabrenja showed the {j-Spades}{7-Spades} for missed draws and Deeb tabled the {2-Spades}{2-Hearts} for the winning pair of ducks to surge his stack higher up.

Marasco Takes Chip Lead after Massive Pot

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

After an open by Andy Miller, a three-bet by Frank Marasco, a cold four-bet by Miller for 200,000, and then a flat by Marasco, the two players went to a flop with a huge pot brewing.

The flop was {10-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} and Miller checked to Marasco, who then bet 200,000. Miller then quickly moved all in for 600,000 and Marasco snap-called, slightly covering.

Andy Miller: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Frank Marasco: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}

Miller's heart sank when he realized he'd been coolered, and the runout of {2-Clubs}{6-Spades} sealed his fate and he was eliminated from the tournament. Meanwhile Marasco became the chipleader with 1,700,000 in chips.
